Next Generation Portable (NGP) the upcoming handheld console developed by Sony & is the successor to PSP.

The first thing I think of is overcomplicated. If people thought the 3DS was priced high, I can't wait to see what this will go for.

Ultimately I find technical specifications largely irrelevant. As I enjoy the PSP's unique library (shitty JRPG's) I can only hope this system scratches the same itch. So in the end, it's all about what games come out for it. I am not going to hold my breath thinking it'll be the greatest thing ever.

I bet it's something the tech department cobbled together in a couple of weeks once management realized that Nintendo was about to surpass or meet the PSP in *almost* every way. It also looks like they still have that "graphics over gameplay" mindset too. I think Sony should bench their portable for a while, focus on the continuing salvage of their console (it's pretty much a fight for second place in that area), and come back strong with some original and and amazing content in the next couple years (or some actually good ports), and having hardware targeting the other portable's weakness (interchangeable chargeable battery packs that last longer than 4 hours, anyone?)

They also should work on the name, "Next Generation Portable" will sound funny when it is current or outdated.

this thing is almost better than the ps3-hardware wise, basically imagine the ps3 in side the NPG thats what this is. This is the next gen portable, but its actually called the psp2

Hmmm...well it definitely would be nice to have better graphics on a portable game...I need to get a new psp anyways lol (mine is a couple years old with scratches and the back is loose lol still works though). Guess itll be good as long as its not like 3DS prices.

I would definitely like to get one... kind of sucks you won't be able to use any of your old games that might have previously bought. Makes me regret buying a new PSP recently. I didn't know about this until, unfortunately after I had already bought the thing. >.>

That thing is gonna cost more than the 3DS and I don't really see what it is going to bring to the table that is unique.
