How would you have ended Avatar The Last Airbender?

In my opinion the series' ending had the same problem as the ending in "Return of the Jedi" in which they made the decision to end on a high note without addressing issue of the Fire Nation's acceptance of peace just when they have just won the war, the Fire Nation soldiers has always been portrayed as nationalistic and loyal to the Fire Lord and I doubt all the soldiers and officers who have sacrificed and lost so much would just accept a ceasefire when they were just on verge of conquering the world.

Chuck all episodes into a volcano.

The movie was fucking terrible. I could act better.

Fire Nation wins. Personally, I was rooting for them the whole time.
Also, complete annihilation of the Earth and Water people. Possible genocide. They were really annoying.

I would remake the entire series in a darker and more adult angled world where people actually die .

I for one, thought the series pulled of the type of atmosphere perfectly. It had some stuff for the 6-10 market, but older kids could still enjoy most of it. It doesn't really deserve to have the whole Livejournal Weeaboo following it does though.

I really don't think death note was particularly dark.
