The story goes like this. A Best Buy worker sent Kotaku a secret piece of promotional art. Here it is: A short while later, the GameInformer website mistakenly displayed this banner, a few days earlier than it should have: All but confirming a Native American main protagonist and an American War of Independence setting. I can see how it might be interesting from a historical point of view (mainly to Americans though), but the end of the day this is a game. From what I know, there weren't many rooftops and buildings involved in that war. Their absence will likely translate to a very major, fundamental gameplay change. The backbone of all the previous AC games, free-running across rooftops, has pretty much been thrown out the window. A greater focus on sneaking and stealth, infiltrating army encampments? Climbing trees and shooting targets with your bow? Ubisoft are trying to change things up here, and I applaud them for that. AC:R was the worst AC since the first because it was so tired and didn't progress much from the previous games. While a Native American protagonist intrigues me, I think he looks ridiculous. An 18th century military jacket with a hood? In fact everything about him looks ridiculous. I also noticed that he is wearing thin leather gloves, and doesn't appear to be carrying the staple hidden blades. A full, official reveal is rumored to be set for March 5. What are your thoughts? Setting? Protagonist? Gameplay? Well this is appearing to be incredibly stupid. Well unless we get t play on the British side to which would be awesome.
The native american idea is sweet because the assassins were always made up of people that were rejected by society. I'm sure if they wanted they could have it in a city like Philadelphia, Boston, Baltimore or New York, they were sort of built up by that time. Don't know why you think he looks ridiculous he has to dress according to his time period. You can't just wear Assassins robes and not get noticed The idea seems pretty fresh to me though, I can't really name a huge list of games except E:TW that's focused on the American Revolution.
I think New York will have to be included considering where the last game left off. But I really hope they do multiple cities like Philadelphia and Boston, and don't just do one big city like in Brootherhood or Revelations. I think it would also be cool if neither the Americans nor the British were good and were both just templar factions fighting for the piece of eden.
He's wearing a 18th century ceremonial general's jacket. Heavy, cumbersome, impractical, very unusual on a native and conspicuous. It has a hood on it. Multiply any unusualness and conspicuousness by ten. Double that again because it's white. Then he has raggedy, fur covered pants. Again, unusual, cumbersome and conspicuous. Add butt ugly to the mix. The outfits in the other AC games were also unusual and conspicuous, but much less so, and the whole combination looked quite good. Here, the outfit looks ugly and silly.
dunno bout you but ezios outfit looked hella cumbersome to me, but I guess you must have the stereotypical image of a native with long hair, red headband and bare chest. Oh well really they make the character can't make them change it.
This game looks sweet. I have never been more excited for an AC game. http://www.computerandvideogames.co...-new-hero-is-connor-not-all-english-are-evil/ Here are some details.
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/viewer.php?mode=article&id=278763 this screenshot just does it for me! how awesome does it look holy crap I want it to be october
This looks so stupid, america wasnt even that industrialized or had big cities at the time. The only big cities were Philadelphia,Boston,Baltimore, and the rest was mostly rural. And I can see the story now "LOL UMMERICA DA BESTEST EVIL NAZI BRITISH ALSO TEMPLARS KILL DEM all LuL". Well I hope the missions are fun and actually assassinations.
Well the article says that, "not all british are bad, and some americans are bad aswell" It will be interesting to see where they go with the story.
You realise the Assassin's Creed series isn't even made by an American company. Did you even read the article? Plus it is centered in those cities.
I hope they actually do something new compared to Brotherhood and Revelations.Maybe instead of parkour and all that you will need to sneak around in forrests and assassinating British generals who are actually templars. Now that would be awesome.
I think that is what they are doing and they are making so you can jump through windows and you use forests and trees to help you traverse the world.
Wait a second. If this is continuing the AC lore it will has to do with something with the pieces of Eden...in america? This could be interesting.
