After the latest events in the site, I feel we need to appreciate of what we have. (Might be a combination of the "How did you find Stalin thread") *How you got here* *Explain why do you stay and what it gives back *How much do you frequent the forums, and why "Do you like to troll people from behind a computer screen" *How much time do you spend watching Stalin's lets plays In short just provide some appreciation. I found myself here because of my love of Stalin's lets plays, it was just his genre and way of doing things in games that made me so fond of it. He then made a site with forum included and summoned his youtube viewer base to it. I soon found myself with other people talking about related things I would talk about, Games, Debates, Stalin's Lets plays. I don't know what I would do without the site, if Stalin ran out of money and couldn't fund the site, or died.. (Not that he will because he is immortal).. But I won't know what to do if the members started to leave by boatloads or the sort or just couldn't pick up the sword anymore, so to speak. The forums are where the backbone of the site is, the people here are so colorful in a way, different but similar views of things. A place where people can see what other people type in their keyboards and display on there screens, a place to discuss debates, a place for that forum game, a place to talk about anything, although people are shielded behind a screen they can type whatever they want and sometimes are judged but you know all that. I watch most of Stalin's lets plays, some are bit overwhelming in amount of time to watch but great quality stuff. In conclusion, I thank Spencer for the great times and the ability to stay for as long as one would will it.
I stay because Stalin is a friend of mine and I am dedicated to helping his site and for other friends as well. It gives me the war room to listen to and stuff to do. I'm always here, even when I'm asleep because I am your mod queen and must watch over you. Not as much as I used to, still watch them though. The one thing I like most about this site is that it has given me a few really close friends that I care for a lot. All the negatives are nothing compared to that.
I don't really know why I'm around here.I think becouse I can get the see what the opions, ideas are of other people around the other side of this mudball. I'm always here daily or as often as I can. I watch some of Stalin's LPs as they are in the recent media section.
How I got here? Well, I was subscribed to Stalins channel for quite a while, so when I announced he was going to move to his very own site, I was very exited, and joined as soon as I saw the video that the site was ready, I went over and made this account. Why I would stay? Well, Stalin is still my favourite LPer of all time, and I wouldn't want to miss any of his work. Not to mention I enjoy listening to him, and of course all the other on the War Room. As for the forums, while it's going to be a bit rough for a while, I still view this place as a great way to discuss all sorts of things, and have a laugh with people. I should really get on Skype with people more often, though. I visit quite a few times a day, mostly because I instantly get an email whenever someone posts a reply to a topic I view, so yeah...
Well, I discovered Stalin videos back in the times of YouTube and joined (as you can see in the date) when the site was created. At first I stayed because I liked Stalin's LPs and his commentaries, but when the forums were created many interesting things started to pop up (although I've never made a post). So, why do I stay? Because of LPs and our community. What it gives back? Some human relations, which I suck at, and it helps me to be a better person. I have tons of free time right now, so I would say I enter the site every 10 mins, that's real dedication brah. About trolling, I think I'm not one, but I would say of that adrenaline rush that pissing off people generate. Finally then, I used to (be an adventurer?) watch every single LP, but now I just watch some; for example, Phoenix Wright is a cool game, but the let's play "bores" me.
When I found stalins website I was new to the whole forum thing, I made some awesome new friends here and I am honored to be elected as your tribune. I am really dedicated to this place even when I am not dedicated to myself. I really came to love and appreciate this site.
1. I stay because I have nothing else to do and in return there's always something amusing going on. 2. Most of the time and because again I have extra time to spend here so I check out what's going on and try to get likes. 3. Very little. The most recent one was the Darkest Hour let's play.
Well General Mosh introduced me to him, but it was not until I heard his co-com with POM on MOW that I actually paid him much attention. Since then, I went back and watched all his Empire total war lets plays which took place before I started to really follow him. Then he created this site and the forum, and I have since made many new friends, and have learned a LOT. Before this forum, I really knew nothing about politics and current events, and the world in general, but now I feel like I have a pretty good idea of how the world operates. As for why I stay, none of my friends can ever hang out anymore and I feel like everyone on the forums, despite our differences are like friends that argue a lot =P.
1.i found him on youtube by his empire total war lets play. 2.i have stayed because I love (yes love) his lets plays. And the community is fantastic, first I thought it was all day all night communist party but I was happy to be wrong. It has given me hope on some things, intellectual debates (I love debates) among many other things Also Stalin is like a twin brother of Dan carlin it makes me calm, and feel like at home and I drift in to the cosmos. 3. Few times a day 4. I have watched almost all of them except the phoenix Wright lets play Also now that Stalin is AUGUSTUS. This is what starts to play in my head when he is online
I first found Stalin through his Tropico 3 let's play then I joined the day the forums were created. I go on here because it's fun and it gives me a sense of community. I also spend a lot of time on the forums because I really have nothing better to do.
I also found that the forums is to me what facebook is to everyone else. It's like a Facebook with political debates and lets plays and games and all that good stuff that can't be found on Facebook. Probably why I never go on Facebook is because this is my facebook.
I got into JVS through his ME LP back in September 2009. Followed him from then through to the Napoleon Total War days, around April 2010. Then I sort of lost track and stopped following him for while, but started again when the site was launched. I lurked on the forums a little, and read them a lot from June onwards. I didn't make an account of my own until November because I didn't find it necessary. I'm starting to realize how wrong I was. Simply put, I've yet to find a LPer I like more than Stalin for reasons the OP has already covered. These past several days I think I've been online more than anyone else, except Chelsea of course. I take time to provide meaningful, constructed responses. I have always made an effort to contribute to the forums, give helpful advice or opinions. Generally, I don't post harsh or insulting comments, especially not without good reason. I'm also a bit of a joker, but I virtually never troll. Discussions are all good, but I hate heated arguments. I spend a few hours a week watching Stalin's LPs.
Having already posted on the 'How did you find Stalin' thread, I won't bore you all with that again (although if I remember correctly, I actually said some nonsense about Stalin appearing before me in a dream, while the reality is I went looking on YouTube for any videos that would help me decide whether Tropico 3 was worth the risk or not - the 'risk' being that my computer at the time was only just capable of running it). Anyway, I like to think I appreciate Stalin by prioritising watching his videos over getting too involved over here. I mean, the forums are fun and all, but it must hurt Stalin at least a bit when people argue and fall out and such. So I stick to what both us and he are here for.
I found JosefvStalin by searching a few strategy games on YouTube, ones which I cannot play, but also couldn't find something that I could sit and watch for half of an hour. That is, until I found Stalin's channel on YouTube. I immediately subscribed and was a fan ever since. I was well aware of the website being formed since day one, but never really decided to make an account until a little bit later. I stayed watching his YouTube let's plays because he played awesome games that I had never even heard of, and that I could not run them on my PC even if I had. I stay on the forums because these forums provide a place to debate philosophy and politics, to a level where I cannot do this anywhere else on the internet, (sometimes) no matter how much I searched or how much people I knew. I stay for the Let's Plays, and the warroom, as they provide entertainment greater than that of sattelite TV. I like posting here, whether it's debates or off-topic arguments, it is somewhat fun, and somewhat annoying. In the end, it provides something for me to do, something which I find at least tolerable and can go on for hours. I take my time to watch every video, every warroom, when I have the time. That being said, I spend lots and lots of time here, watching Stalin's LP's, and it is worth it.
I think that's the main reason why people stay here. In the middle of all those trolls and idiots, there are also good and nice people. And the main reason many people follow Stalin, is because he has a good personality and is a sympathetic person.
I came here because I liked the LP's and thought it would be pretty fun. I stay because I still think it is, and also think that everyone needs to control the drama over an Internet forum.
