Knew it. I knew Putin would win because he does not play fair. I would bet pretty much anything that he rigged this election and it was never a real election to begin with. Unrest is only going to continue to grow in Russia and as long as Putin is in office, so will corruption. I doubt the people of Russia will put up with him forever.

Ya no one believes for a second that Putin won fair and square. I wonder how soon it will be until riots break out.

Who was surprised? Please raise your hand now.
Tomorrow I will hear my Russian friend say:"Nihil sub sole novum" with frustrated voice but also glad, because he doesn't have to live in Russia anymore..

There won't be any riots. As the polls say 60+% of the Russian people love mighty Putin
why would they riot? when they have voted for him?, there will be celebrations on the streets no rioting or protests just celebrations of there mighty leader Putin!.

Better Putin in office than a no good commie, regardless if it was a fair election or not. I doubt there's going to be much time before Russians start going apeshit in the streets because of it, though. There's no good way to put down a riot without the press bitching about it.

Of course it is good, who can oppose the glorious leadership of Putin? All who do shall be polonium'd. On a serious note, this election is obviously bullshit and as other people have been saying, Putin never plays fair.

So far, reports of electoral fraud are in the thousands. All of the other candidates, bar one, have disputed the results, calling them illegitimate and false. Zyuganov has promised unrest against the Putin regime, and in fact, I believe he has a protest/rally planned for today.

Unfortunately for me, RT (my regular news-source) is the most pro putin biased source you could find on the ordeal. Being that I don't trust a corporate media, I'm kinda in the blank.

I would say a matter of weeks or even days. It depends how the government responds to the protests. If they violently try to put them down, the riots will come sooner rather than later, I would say.

I'm in the middle, I don't think Communism is what Russia needs but equally I don't think Putin is either.

Meh, I don't really want the communists in charge again, but I'm not sure if their policies have changed, so I voted bad.

I imagine that wins him credibility with those who feel nostalgia for the USSR. More so than a party which denounces its own past actions of most of the last century, or a bunch of racists with 'Bolshevik' in their name.
I think what people forget is that Putin could not possibly be worse than Yelstin. I mean, that guy attacked the parliament with tanks. I know i'd pick electoral fraud over that any day. Plus, no-one here is seriously saying the other candidates, all but one of whom have lost to Putin before, legitimately, were robbed of some kind of victory. I'm pretty sure that if United Russia/Putin weren't around, we wouldn't have woken up today to find Russia had become a communist utopia overnight, or that heaven forbid, the National Bolsheviks were doing their best to make Modern Warfare 3 a less nonsensical game.
