So an athlete with a 15 million dollar salary gets about 250 k a week and he donates about 50k. Sorry it was 1/5 but still it is about 3 million a year. That is Lebron by the way.

So he still gets 12 million dollars. He gets 11 and a half million dollars more than the average american gets. Yet the average american actually has a job that is productive towards society. This is why I hate a lot of professional athletes.

You hate them because they make more money than most Americans? Is that their fault?

No. I hate them because they make all that money and then complain about not getting enough money. Give me one reason why Lebron James deserves 12 million dollars a year?

He is really good. Lebron doesn't complain about his contract. Give me evidence to support that he does.

So because he is really good at playing a sport he deserves 12 million dollars? But the average American that has a job that actually helps society and whatnot deserves only about 40 thousand dollars a year? Your logic eludes me.

You think that being a professional athlete is not productive. Professional sports gain a ton of money.

For the owners. And for the television channels. Money is not the only thing that makes something productive. Working for a financial company for example, giving people advice, helping them make investments, helping them get out of debt etc. is much mroe productive than playing a sport. Yet those people dont make 12 million dollars a year. All sports players in my opinion should only make around 2-3 million a year max.

edit: @TRP128499 Sports players still make way too much money. Donald Trump made it with a business. Bill Gates revolutionized the computer industry. Steve Jobbs revolutionized the tablet and cell phone industry. All Lebron James did was play basketball.

So that the owners can keep all of the money? I'm not following.

My point is, they make way too much money. Everything has some positive effect on the economy, society, etc. Yet there are not many jobs especially not sports, that warrant someone getting paid tens of millions of dollars.

edit: @TRP128499 Does that mean he deserves 12 million dollars a year? What did he do so productive that warrants him getting 12 million dollars a year? For Christ's sake, he didnt even go to college.

I think you are jealous. These players were given this God-given talent and you are trying to say they shouldn't get paid for working everyday and not just sitting on their asses.

lolz. God given talent? THEY PLAY A FUCKING SPORT! Why doesn't the average Joe that works his ass off 10 hours a day get 12 million dollars a year and a big mansion? Why doesn't Fred who went to college and got a bachelor's degree get 12 million dollars a year? Why does a guy that didnt even go to college and probably would never survive doing what the average Joe does, deserve that instead of Joe or Fred?

Their are plenty of billionaires and millionaires who actually got rich doing something that revolutionized society as a whole. T.V. companies would stay in business without sports players getting payed millions. They would still get paid first of all. Second of all, I doubt CBS, TNT, FOX, ABC, NBC, etc. would go out of business if players start getting paid 1 or 2 million dollars instead of 12-30 million.
