"Grusky’s claims about rising income inequality are seriously overblown."

    HAH.

He argues that the rich getting richer isn't making the poor poorer by citing his own bank account! That's the most short sited and ill conceived argument I've ever seen! That's like saying my monkey didn't transform into a human today so evolution doesn't exist.

He basically told all the unemployed who were recently employed that they don't matter because he isn't getting poorer. I'm not sure he really understands how our society is currently progressing. The Employed Middle-to-Lower Classes get sacked so that The Upper Class can contiune its obsurdly large profit streak and hold on to their money. Simply saying,"Oh, well I didn't get poorer because Bill Gates got richer, so you are odvisiously wrong. Nevermind the millions of people who just got sacked and thus had their income severly deminished."

Now, ignoring what History Genius showed us, I have to say that the argument of income inequality is an argument used to citicize a free-market economy in expansion.

What really matters is when the rich and the poor are both having their personal GDP rising, in a society with economic prosperity. Since the 70´s and the 80´s. most countries in the world liberalized their economies ot some extent. The results were incredible. I don´t see how income inequality is that big of a deal.

You people should stop with that idiocy of "class warfare" and end with such utopian ideals of income equality, because it´s impossible and there is never going to happen, ever.

I also wanted to say that in many country, the fact that we had flat taxes made small and medium bussiness collapse in a giant % for the last years, while including a few small bussiness. Along with that, to much state spending gave the the country a high debt, briging us to our kness before the IMF. HOORAY, FOR STATISM! (irony)

And one more thing, this time to History Genius: stop trying to pretend you are for small government, because conservatists are so much statists as marxists.

Income inequality is just seen as bad because the liberal media told these people it was. They would love to close wealth gap by having the poor poorer like they were in the past, provided that the rich could be less rich. That is a liberal policy.

The reason why income inequality is bad is because we don't live in the 50s anymore, women are not only houswifes anymore. They are a independent part of the workforce, heck in my country they surpass males in university degrees.
Soon enough there will be more highly qualified women then men.

I just want the rich poorer because the fundamental way they earn money is exploitative.

Ideologues are society's cancerous dead weight. Parasitic scum.

If you wan't to get technical, money in of itself is exploitative. Moving lager amounts of it into other hands does not result in an equalization, but rather gives others a greater ability to exploit each other until another set of select few climbs their way to the top. Essentially, we're looking at a zero-sum game here.

There is only one true method of equalization, and that is education.
