I was around the Belgium Holland border around Antwerp because I visited Belgium too still nice country
Ah, that makes sense, that's the not very flat area. The beer and food is good around there, I hear. I haven't been there nearly enough.
I just have it as a good memory it was before my parents split and the last time I remember them together
Have you guys seriously been writing in English in the Netherlands thread for the past 39 pages? Especially the Dutch members, to other Dutch members?
Yeah, we have another thread in which we speak Dutch. It's in Dutch, so you might not have noticed it's there. It's there, though. The first one (well, after Russian, I guess) in the multilingual part of the forum!
Oh, I know it's there, I just would've thought one Dutch member would've written in Dutch to another. I dunno, probably? This is also the Netherlands thread.
Well, as this is more a discussion thread for everyone on the forums, instead of only those who are Dutch, speaking English is probably for the better.
My opinions on the Netherlands is that it is pretty awesome country. Amsterdam also has a really cool city planning in the older parts of the city. The only thing that i negative is that they have an ugly language (at least to me).
I guess this is a reasonable answer to my question, and if this is what the other Dutch members are thinking when in conversation amongst eachother on the forums, well there you go. What defines an ugly language? Is it a language you cannot understand, and have no interest in? I'm thinking that you're thinking that.
I personally think it sounds ugly just mostly because to me it sounds like twisted English with allot of CHHH Sounds. It might just be in Sweden people think Dutch sounds ugly.
I'm surprised you don't think Finns are ugly. What? Who? Where? Why? WTF? Anyway, English and German/Dutch are similar to eachother, because of history. It isn't ugly, it is variations, over history they all have made variants of other languages and alphabets, and the people in their country have learnt and speak it. To some, it is different, and sound strange, but it really isn't, this is the explanation for it.
I am sure Dutch sounds amazing to any west Germanic language. Why would I think Finns are ugly? It would be racist saying that all Finns are ugly. If you are talking about the Finnish language then I can say that I think it is kind of beautiful, mostly because of how the use k:s.
Do you not notice how your fellow Scandinavian languages sound nice to you? (Maybe just the Finns, not sure what you think of Norwegians and Danish, and don't tell me) well, that is the same for Europeans, English, Asian, etc.
Finnish isn't a Scandinavian language and does not even sound close to one. And I actually think that French sounds better than the Scandinavian languages even though it is from the Romance group. But I must agree it probably depends on where you are from.
Apparently, Dutch is one of the harder languages to learn. Which I can understand somewhat, it's irregular as fuck.
