This thread is for the purposes of wanting less tolerance and more strict action against posts that causes potential harm to newcomers and citizen's alike in our humble little forums.

I would like to bring up a problem we've been having, not only throughout our history, but now with our former Moderators as well. That problem would be hate messages and blatant accusations, whether falsely claimed, unsupported, or otherwise against the forums and/or Stalin's Let's Playing career. I will not name any names, or put any quotes. Although, if you think you know what I am specifically mentioning in the above, keep it to yourself.

I don't think anybody else here has much tolerance for such things, as it does cause harm to the Website's well being. Posts which contain false claims of corruption and accusations against members, moderators and the system of which the moderators run by are intolerable and make even me wonder why I should stay on these forums.

So, let's put it to a vote, let's have strict censorship (as in, deletion of posts and threads which fall into this category) for any posts and threads which are unsupported, false and are for the purposes of putting a negative view to the readers.

Please do not clutter this thread with off topic banter, and further heated debates on this topic.

I cannot support this. While I am against the new rule set in place by the mods for stricter control of deletion of posts and threads, I can live with it as long as it is not abused. This goes as step too far, and undermines the foundations that these forums were built on. (A little cliche, I know)

While I agree with all of this, I can't help but to point out that this isn't a really serious thing, this is a forum. A place where the saying "If you have nothing good to say, don't say anything" comes into play and, really, has no effect what-so-ever to the life of the reader or writer.

If that's the case... then who would care what's being said about it in the first place?

This isn't the fact that it is being said, but that it is starting massively heated debates, and carries on for months. For example, the whole Napoleon incident didn't do anything but slow down four months after he started going against the rules.

I am sick of this, I don't want to see it anymore, I want to participate in discussions here, and this is a very good place to do it on, but things like these are ruining it for me and I no longer feel like I want to be here.

But the incident with Napoleon hardly is a good excuse to change the rules, seeing as he continuously broke them anyway. Him breaking the rules caused the whole situation.

And how many threads are really massive shitstorms compared to those that are not. There's still plenty of discussion, and when there's not, well...start one. There's already talk about the new rule, making it even stricter is probably going to have the opposite effect.

The Napoleonic War (See what I did there?) isn't the sole reason for this thread, this is for the preventing of it happening again.

Also, when people come to a thread, and they see a shitstorm, they're probably not going to post. That would surely make them go away without posting, it has for me sometimes.

I cannot deny that I have before stated that this is just a forum, so I cannot deny you the same right. However, beign just a forum, is this level of control necessary?

Yup. Anyone who supports their own censorship in a forum where one of the main branchs of activity are political and philosophical debate is just trying to make sure that nobody can hurt their feelings if they say something that is ridiculous and immature.

My teacher had the class write down the lyrics to our favorite songs.
    Guess what I wrote?

Still, the example seems to be the wrong one. It doesn't matter what you do to the rules if people are going to break them anyway.

I mostly didn't comment on said shitstorms because I lacked the backstory, and an opinion on the matter. I wouldn't be surprised if I wasn't the only one.
