So after watching Stalin's 'Let's Play' of Darkest Hour I decided to purchase the game. I really like it - its an awesome game, very engrossing. However, im terrible at the game and wondered if anyone knows of any good tutorials. The in game tutorials are just 'meh' and don't explain the game well enough.

tl;dr know any decent Darkest Hour Tutorials -- that are not in-game ones!?

I can give you some tips that I have learned from playing much Darkest Hour.
-Always reinforce and upgrade your forces before battle, it is often more important than production.
-Do not care about planes the difference they make are not as big as 20 tanks over 3 cas would make.
-Do give a shit about navy.
-If you have small industry and war isn't close by, then build industry in every province you have and research ic tech.
-If you have a big manpower pool then attack even if they have a good defensive position it will weaken them eventually.
-Mobility tech tree is the best.

I'm doing a let's play series at the moment of Kaiserreich on Darkest Hour. Not a tutorial exactly but I did try to explain some basic game concepts in the videos.

I guess you could watch Stalin's Hearts of Iron 2 let's play he did as Japan. It's not Darkest Hour, but it's basically the same thing at the end of the day, just with a slightly different map and one or two added features.
