in my personal opinion i had more fun playing fallout New Vegas than fallout 3 but i think that fallout 3 had a better story
From what I've seen, you get to go from random prisoner to all-important-dragon-dude-who's-leader-of-everything-except-the-main-factions-even-though-he-still-has-to-run-around-for-everyone in Skyrim, which doesn't make much sense to me. Fallout 3 and New Vegas both give a decent reason for your importance, and more importantly, a motive. Although I haven't completed Fallout 3 yet, it seemed to me it's much harder to justify a bad karma path in comparison to New Vegas, which I enjoyed more anyway.
Nah, not yet, I've been having some issues with hard disk space, and I wasn't sure whether my machine could run it (which it should, surprisingly). I'll probably pick it up in the next Steam sale. I'm hoping it won't be the disappointment that Oblivion was, I hated that one.
Fallout 3, for one Fallout 3 revolutionized the Fallout series with it's graphics and gameplay, were New Vegas just simply added on to it. Plus Fallout 3's dlc was a lot better than New Vegas's was.
Fallout 3 was better forit's time, and had a greater impact, but you couldn't possibly say that Fallout 3 is superior to Fallout NV, that's irrational.
Well plot and setting wise it's far better than Fallout New Vegas. The gameplay was better in New Vegas but all the new gameplay was for the most part Fallout 3 mods.
The problem I found with being in the city is that not only are those damn subway tunnels incredibly annoying, it still feels much more restricted, and navigating around is somewhat of a hassle.
Yes but at least there is something to look at and if those are annoying just stroll through the wasteland for a while then. I also loved all the DLC worlds except Operation Anchorage but Point Lookout had by far the best setting.
I never got around to playing the Fallout 3 DLC, but apart from Old World Blues and Honest Hearts I wasn't too impressed by the F:NV ones. Oh well, at least you got the awesome rocket launcher from the Divide, and that guy's sexy voice.
I disagree. Fallout 3 is probably my favorite game but I can see why people would like Fallout NV better. For one, they managed to pull off the post-apocalyptic-Western setting excellently and the conflicts between factions were very well made. It's just a matter of personal preference but both games are great in their own right. Fallout 3 DLC is worth buying.
I do have it, but when I screwed up my leveling and hit the cap without investing much into combat skills, I uninstalled it to play some other stuff. I'll probably go through it thoroughly later on.
I don't think combat skills matter too much in the DLC. I know for sure that you can go through most of Point Lookout without the use of combat as sneaking is very easy. Also, Broken Steel ups your level cap.
Now that I think about it, I think I assumed the DLC was installed automatically, but nope, gotta do that yourself. Still, I'd love to go to Oasis again, that place is awesome.
Oasis confused the fuck out of me. I got lost in the mountains surrounding it and got attacked by cannibals, which made the entire place seem sinister.
