They're big in the southern half of the province, I don't know why, I haven't asked them.

Well they are for some bizarre reason, probably because of the fact that Danielle Smith, their leader, is from a small town down in the south near Calgary, which has a lot of ranches and stuff. Its quite different in Edmonton though, for some reason, the NDP has quite the power here... A speck of orange in a sea of blue.

Apparently there are only two ridings the NDP are supposed to win. Isn't Edmonton also home to Stephen Harper's federal riding?

    yep
actually, some people here are predicting the NDP to gain more than those two seats, also a lot of the more politically educated people I met and my classmates seem to lean to the left more a lot and the NDP. Plus pretty much a lot of wildrose voters vote for them cuz of that $300 check promise.

They offer money if you vote for them? Isn't that bribery?

well not really, I should have been a bit more specific lol. They're saying that they'll give $300 checks if they get voted into office and if there's a government surplus.

So you get money if they win? Still seems like bribery to me.

Think about it this way observer, they will fail miserably at governing if they are elected and it will be funny to watch .

Well their name is accurate. Their mass privatization policy is exactly like a wild rose. It sure is nice to look at and think about but in practice it is an uncontrollable plant covered in thorns. You're likely to be pricked if you try to approach it.

That had the potential to be very clever but failed miserably and made you sound like an idiot.
