This thread is just to continue our off topic debate that needs a new thread so we can have back our World War 1 thread :p

Here is the thread for those interested. The link brings you straight to around the beginning of the debate/discussion.

I don't think we really need this thread, the debate was pretty much over anyway. I'm repeating myself ad nauseam. I'll reply to this and then again in a day or so in case the debate becomes interesting.

Yes it does. If you don't know who the most important guy in the field of economics was, then we can safely conclude that you don't understand economics. Your lightbulb analogy is flawed. You can't compare a lightbulb with a scientific field. The latter requires a lot more understanding, which includes knowing who the most important scientists were and what their theories consist of.

Well you weren't really a major part of it :p
And if people (sly) completely ignore this, I will take it as an admission of defeat ;)
    No, not really....
Well someone once analogized socialism with birds....so I'm pretty sure my lightbulb analogy isn't flawed.

So I guess Kara admitted defeat because he hasn't posted about it in awhile.

I guess Kali and Shaw did too huh? Notice how I didn't tag those three, they aren't really involved in the debate anymore.
No. Just no. Your telling me every person who knows what the lightbulb is knows Thomas Edison?

    Did I say everyone? No.

I said a ton of people know who he is.

I would say over half of the world knows who he is.

My point is Thomas Edison is irrelevant because he didn't invent the lightbulb. Economics can literally be attributed to Adam Smith.

I know. But there is even less likely of a chance of people knowing who Humphry Davy is.

Also, its @The Shaw and @Karakoran

That's not my point. My point is the argument about Edison is unknown.
You don't see people claiming they know everything about the lightbulb either.

Yes I do. I'm sure some electricians do. But I don't see anyone claiming the know everything about economics either.

Yes they do. For instance, while Marx was alive I guarantee he knew everything about socialism and communism.

We are created in god's image. Which makes him a person.
    I'll do whatever I want.
