People who realize that most cops are not douchebags?

edit: Go live in Philly or Camden. You will want to hug and kiss every cop you see.

My father and uncle are cops and two more of my uncles are deputies and they aren't generally bad cops.

I got halfway through. A bunch of unsubstantiated rhetoric with no evidence to back it up..... Basically everything the police haters in this thread have been saying. No real reason to read it in it's entierty

Edit: I'm truly shocked... shocked.... that people who run a website that openly advocates violent confrontation with the police, and espouses tactics to that end, has had some negative experiences with the police.

I think the officer in question should get his pistol taken away and replace it with a bubble gun. He clearly is not mature enough to handle grown up guns.

The government agency I'm planning to join has probably the most stringent background checks of them all, and it only requires that you be clean for the year preceding your application. Obviously it won't exactly help your chances of being hired, but they said past drug offenses weren't exactly their priority, either. As long as you're clean in the time before you apply and remain so after, then you won't have any strikes against you.

I cant say Ive ever thought of all police officers as bad. I can't say I've had a good experience either. Most cops in the town I lived in were "dirty" by that they would never wear their seat belts, speed constantly, talk on their cell or use their laptops. The worse they would ever do is harass people when their quotas were coming up or take the drugs that someone had on them, let that person go and light up.

Also it sucks when you're the "wrong" color and you're driving in a nice neighborhood or your car isn't beat to hell.

Well, here's a pro tip on avoiding trouble with the police: don't break the law. I've never had any problems with the police in my life, and it's incredibly easy to avoid them if you just don't do what you're legally barred from doing.

As a straight, white, upper-class right wing, 19 year old male christian, and with no disability, I'd find it rather difficult to actually imagine you running into any problems with the law.

Try being lower-class and black , and see how much things change for you.

I like how you decide you can just make declarative statements about me. I don't have issue with cops because I don't break the law. It's unbelievably easy to live that way.
Don't give me that garbage. If you don't break the law, the police have no business bothering you. If they do it anyways, they're in the wrong and the legal system will agree with you.

So is any of what I said there not true? Keep in mind that I may take an indecisive answer as confirmation.

Eh... I have a lot of law enforcement friends. Depending on the neighborhood and precinct there is a good amount of racial profiling. Not to the Rodney king point, but on the main street to the town I grew up in, basically if you were African american you were going to get pulled over... Ostensibly for being 2 over the speed limit (when everyone knows the rate of traffic is 5-10 over), but really because they were African american and driving in a white neighborhood. They wouldn't get charged with anything, but there is certainly at least two America's
