    Kali is right as long as you don't break the law you'll be fine. Well at least over here. I'm not sure how it is over there in America but it's probaly the same, it's not like you are a third world police state.

    The only time I've ever been confronted by the police (in Norway) is when i was Skiing urban in some apartment complex, all they did was kindly ask me to leave. Now ler don't try to argue that it's just because I'm white and "privileged" that i got off so easy, It was because i didn't break any major laws.

    I'm 19, white, male, and straight. Your political ideology is invisible and therefore can't have any bearing on how the police will treat you, as are "class", sexual orientation, and religion. Obviously there are some policemen who are bigoted, but no one thinks they're in the right, and their bigotry won't stand in court. If you don't commit a crime, you have nothing to fear.

    Man those cops are such assholes. I hate how they prevent people from looting my home, raping my loved ones, and generally prevent society devolving into anarchy. Some one really should teach them a lesson.

    Well police give us shit for anything so aparently breathing is a crime, TBH I think the police force does protect us but I must say alot are very corrupt. Also I am talking about American Cops FYI, I do not know about cops in Europe and such.

    Look, I've only been questioned by the police twice, and have had no trouble because I hadn't done anything (I just happened to vaguely look like another guy who lived on my street: white, brown hair, skinny, etc). Racial profiling does exist in America and elsewhere, which sucks. Also, Ler, are you black?

    Why hate the police they're there to help you as long as your a middle class white man and not Black,Asian,Spanish. Because if you are you will be arrested and shot down on site for just jaywalking.
    Well that's what I've been told but in my experience the police are nice they just hate assholes who break the law and are smart asses about it.

    What the hell is wrong with people? I mean yes, there are always going to be bad cops, but most cops aren't so why don't you quit complaining and appretiate that you(Americans) live in a society that protects you from robbers, theives, murderers, rapists etc.
    Edit: And while the average, nice cop is never shown in the media, they will immidiately hunt down the stories of police abuse, which of course should be stopped, but is nowhere near as prevalent as many make it out to be.

    Furthermore, the amount of police haters among reds is too damn high!

    Finnish cops are quite good at what they do. I´ve been pulled over couple of times, DUI raid on the road,questioned by the police on public intoxication etc. But i havent seen any abuse of their power, maybe in the higher ranks there could be corruption as example homocide detectives gone bad.
