Seeing as how you probably don't have any personal connection to anyone in this whole incident I'd suggest not worrying about fixing it. Do what I did. Say, "Wow, that's horrible." Then, after you've acknowledged that it's disgusting what those teachers did, you move on with your life. I'm extremely skeptical of social activism and I think its primary purpose is to make people feel better about themselves. Their intentions are well though, that I don't dispute, so I guess they get points for that.

No, I wouldn't. This happens in most cases with some people, but I'm not pledging support. Sorry, I can be one "evil" bastard sometimes.

I'll sign the petition. I think this is absolutely fucking disgusting, but it's not really a big story though. I have a lot of family members in the 'Autistic community' (Forgive me for using that term), and to say that I hear about something like this every other week would be no exaggeration.

Why would anyone name their kid "Akian", no wonder the poor bastard has autism.

He has autism, that doesn't make him inherently a "retarded".

Just because saying retarded is taboo these days doesn't change the meaning of the word. He is developmentally delayed, unless I am mistaken? I thought that is what autism was. Also you just said a "retarded, which doesn't make sense. Do English.

    Disgusting event

I wonder why the father didn't: make lawsuit out of this and thus be able to demand compensations. And be able to demand the removal of the teachers from the specific school (or demand that they lose their degree, so they can't work as a teacher ever again)

Autism is not a synonim for mental retardation.

    What?

You're right, austism IS a mental retardation. There is a difference.

You butchered the english language in your initial response, go reread.

Not even sure, and I'm not devoting my sincere lovable sympathy to somebody that gets abused for having autism, sorry this happens for most autistic kids. Got of think of all the other cases that happen on a daily bases, not some one singular circumstance which the father think's this only happens to his child and nobody else's. FUCK IT!

Agreed. We should strive for a society where people are ashamed of being so useless as those women.

Why isn't the father capable of helping out his own child if his being bullied and all by teachers and pupils? Surely he has taken this too the police. In somewhat his responsible for looking after his kid, not us. We shouldn't have the audacity to get other people out of the ditch so to speak, leave them to be. I feel sorry, indeed for the child as he has autism, and no one should be degraded for something they can't help having.

Bullying isn't a crime in the US, and harrassment has to be physical, I'm sure the parent took his son out of that school but that's the best he could do. He alredy said he didn't want to sue.

Bulling is not illegal in the United States, but many of the behaviors engaged in by bullies can be defined as criminal assaults. Punching, kicking, and in some forms of verbal abuses if it contains racial discrimination or something that is coincided with the law.

If the fathers has already help, get his son out of the school, then the problem is over, no need to worry. Put the kid in a special needs school to learn and where he can be treated equally as a Human Being like the rest of the pupils.

The thing is the teacher never touches the child. And the verbal assault was not discriminatory because retardation doesn't meet the standard.

do you know how much private schools cost? and he shouldn't have to take his kid out of school to fix the problem, the teacher that did this should have lost her job but she did not and that's why he is doing this.
