Like Cinco de Mayo, no we don't. National holidays are mostly christian and others like "Tiradentes" and of course the Independence Day.

Being a patriot isn't an insult on your heritage, am I wrong?

That's an utterly retarded statement. In terms of fun holidays, the 4th of July is probably number 2 after Christmas. Hell, it might just be the best one. Fireworks, barbeque, summer, parades; it's undoubtedly better than anything you yuros have.

I agree with Kali. The fourth of July is like everyone's favorite holiday. Its even better than Christmas, in my opinion. I've never lived on mainland Europe but I remember when I lived in England the only holiday that even resembled the fourth of July was the fifth of November.

What's the difference(other than the historical one)? All I know is that they've both got lots of fireworks.

    What was that?
Such as social laws, and a government that is with us, and not against us?

Also, we have Queen's Day, which is undoubtedly one of the most fun holidays one can possibly enjoy.
The fifth of November? What's on the fifth of November?

Bonfire night. Its origins are in the gunpowder plot, where Guy Fawkes and some other Catholic conspirators conspired to blow up Parliament.

You burn scarecrows that look like Guy Fawkes in a giant bonfire, have fireworks, drink, and generally have a good time.

It's actually a celebration that the plot failed.

Haha, that sounds pretty awesome. So, do the Catholics actually celebrate the holiday?

Typical yuro. Retreat into your pathetically irrelevant political system every single time anything is ever better in the US. Like honestly, there's no reason at all to raise that issue, but since you're a (continental) yuro, you have to maintain that false sense of superiority at all costs, including common sense and logic.

    Here's some facts for you:

Avg. cost in USD of 4th of July holiday
    $3,000,000,000

Avg. cost in USD of Queen's Day
    $850,655

Avg. cost in USD of 4th of July holiday as a percentage of US GDP
    10^(-4) x 2.0562
    or
    0.00020562%

Avg. cost in USD of Queen's Day as a percentage of Netherlands GDP
    10^(-6) x 1.0914
    or
    0.0000010913999999999998%

The numbers don't lie. Your holiday is several orders of magnitude shittier than ours.

Yeah, spending money is obviously always superior. That is why I flush money through the toilet daily.

Bitch please, holidays are only an excuse for not going to work/school and to "celebrate".
