I'm drawn on the issue.

On one side, pornography promotes the sexualization, and objectification of women - This is both unhealthy for the male involved, and females who are forced to try and abide by our fucked up corporate-influenced standards of beauty, and our male dominated society.

On the other hand, it is a much larger matter than just saying 'It's banned'. You'd have to heavily censor the internet, and the general media to achieve this, something which I absolutely disagree with - Information should always be 100% free, and any attempt at internet-censorship is completely Orwellian in nature.

Bleh.

Men aren't objectified anywhere near the level to which women are in our society. And the problem itself doesn't necessarily stem from porn, but pornography is a means of further infecting our male-dominated society.

Now that I've had some time to think about it, I would have to say that I don't agree with banning porn - Primarily because this would mean censoring the internet. I do believe steps need to be taken to counteract the high levels of sexism which exist in our culture. To what to degree though, I'm not sure.

Infecting our male-dominated society... Which has a higher share of female gradutates than males. Which has equal rights. Which has practically made it a taboo to even think about making a joke about women when there's one in a radius of 1 mile, and with women making openly sexist jokes or statements on tv. and I don't even want to talk about judicial punishments.

While I see hardly any reason why anyone should find men to be superior to women, sexism still works both ways. If you want full equality, you have to break the barrier from both sides.
