yes i know he is dead but he has destroyed the american economy maybe even beyond repair and he scared many people. i personally think he outsmarted america and caused it to injure its self badly but does that mean he is winning. the deficit is around 15 trillion dollars that is more money than is in circulation

    A) Capitalization and punctuation. B) I'm having trouble seeing how he destroyed the American economy, and how he cause the United States to injure itself beyond repair.

Eh, 9/11 caused a minor recession and had nothing to do with the 08 recession. Oh, yea, and we killed him, and by and large defeated the ability of terrorists to mobilize and launch attacks against the West. So no, I would say he isn't winning.

It's not Osama that's caused our economical problems, that's absurd and anyone who says it is is just using him as a scapegoat. Now invasive airport security and our whole paranoia that causes that? Yeah that's his fault partly. So yeah it's one thing if you're getting violated by airport security to make sure you aren't a terrorist, it's another thing if you lose your job.

The 911 attack was nothing more then a message, if you look on the grand stage. Osama was a fly feeding on the festering shit that is the US economy.

He isn't winning, never was, and terrorists never will again attack America in such a horrible manner as there was on 9/11. But he more or less caused a shitload of stuff to happen (deployments in Iraq, Afghanistan, hell across the world) so you can somewhat say he can partially take credit for that which in part led to our surplus turned deficit.

He destroyed 2 buildings.... Meanwhile hundreds of people are being shot each day in other places.
It's impossible that he could really have damaged the US economy more than a small bump.

Those two buildings were a importent economic center with really experienced people that were good at doing there job which was economical in nature and takes a long time to retrain all that people. Ask your self this after that who took over there jobs and who took advatage of that situation for there own greed becuase a nation was still in grief to notice.........

That has nothing to do with our current economic situation. If it did, why did it take 7 years before we plunged into the Great Recession?

If you mean this recession because what I heard we have been slowly getting worse since the 90s these series of events the past 11 years have just sped it up a little.

No, OBL is more responsible for our massive military spending which led to a big fat deficit, but not the Great Recession. The 90's were fucking amazing, and it is a shame that within a year of Bush becoming POTUS, we lost the surplus Clinton made for us, although I wouldn't blame Bush so much, considering he was only doing what he could to protect America.

No, that's stupid. He's dead, his is organization effectively destroyed, his dream of throwing the US out of the Middle East crushed; I don't see how you can possibly see him as a winner of any kind. Unless we're playing the "have your greatest enemy ruin every aspect of your life" game, in which case he'll take first.

Okay for the sake of conversation the argument is as follows.

Osama's goal may or may not have been to destroy the US, but that's something that can't really be judged on a his lifetime basis because he always saw himself as a martyr figure. If you loosen his goals to "wanted to negatively affect American's lives, and diminish their freedoms" then you can see that maybe he succeeded. The TSA, Patriot act, NDAA, a bunch of war time legislation has limited the way in which Americans can live our lives and hung the cloud of "terrorism" over even our everyday actions.

You realize a World Trade Center can be rebuilt right? And that there are approximately 6 billion+ people living in the world.
