No offense meant, but that is a really 'swiss cheese' definition.
    Ever heard of 'Zippo raids'?

I would do it, and I would do it without any stupid ideas of good and evil, no heightened sense of justice or down trotted lust for revenge.

You are not magic and thus cannot see into the future. Your point makes no sense.

I hardly see how torching vietnamese villages reinforce whatever argument you are trying to make.

You are either immature and have no sense of what you are saying, or a monster.

I'd kill people for a lot less noble ideas than justice, revenge, or even passion. I'd do it for money, for power, or even for king and country. I wouldn't kill someone just because I could, though, and I don't think sane human beings would.

Strategic move to flush out enemies to a country.
Terrible on the people, but it can be phrased as vital to the war effort, which is vital to the survival of the country.

You cannot travel back in time, so that is irrelevant.

    Offensive wars are usually immoral.

    Goddammit accidental double post.

Oh my god, stop ignoring the moral question just because I can't time travel, would I be justified in killing hitler? Since you refuse to answer that question what about the other one, have you ever seen the movie watchmen?

I will continue to ignore a hypothetical and impossible question that challenges my ideas of morality. Anybody can come up with those, but they don't mean anything. I'm talking about real life. And no, I've never seen watchmen.

Did you not just ask people a hypothetical situation in your op?

I did, but it was significantly more realistic and relevant to the real world.

So, the moral question of my post is the important part. Ok let me translate this into a more realistic example. If you came across someone who was going to kill a bunch of people and they only way to stop him was to kill him, would it be ok to kill him to save those people.

How do we know he is going to kill people? Also be more specific. Does he have people lined up with a gun in his hand? Or is he just some crazy guy who expressed his intent to kill people some day?

Are you asking me if a preemptive strike is moral?

Does it really matter? I don't know, you find out some asshole is planning on shooting up his office or something, but you can't prove it and you know he is going to do it that day.

You can't prove it, if you did the cops won't find anything and it might just put you on the guy's shitlist. Also he is doing very soon, he is on his way and cops won't get their in time.

I doubt killing him would be the proper response.
