So, I've recently "tested" out the Ignore Button, and I would argue that it is much better than having a member banned. Honestly, if you want someone gone, go to their page and hit the ignore button, poof. Let's use this thread to discuss the Ignore Button, shall we?
This might actually be a good idea. Instead of banning people, the people who doesn't like said person and wants said person banned, could just ignore said person using the ignore button. It's fairly simple.
If people are breaking the rules enough they will get banned whether people ignore them or not. However yes we do have one (and have always had one, even on the other site) and it is a good idea to use it if you just don't like someone. Go to their profile or click their name and there will be an option for it. Reports should still be made on rule breaking content if you do not have that person ignored.
There you go, perhaps there will be less bitching, and shit slinging around the forums. This will prevent bans, if it can discourage members from breaking rules.
It's just further reason to get rid of personal insults/hate speech rules. If you don't like what someone says, you can censor them yourself, without violating their freedom to express their beliefs.
