Hello people, we are planning to host a D&D roleplay session(s) on next Friday (16:30 GMT/UTC, we can change the time if needed) to an unspecified time, and we are looking for players. it is okay if you've never tried it before, it is quite easy to get the hang of it and it is fun. We will be playing D&D 4th edition. There are no really requirements, other then maturity and Skype (preferably with a mic installed). If you want to join please state so in this thread or send me (or preferably @SPQR ) a PM, we will discuss the development of your character on Skype. Any questions may be submitted via PM or in this thread.
I totally agree 3.5 is way superior, however 4th is simplified (over simplified in fact) and I would like to encourage new people to join, and try as well. If everything goes according to plan we will switch over to 3.5.
not as bad as 3rd but in 4th ed the combat is just boring and the scaling of the game goes to shit after like lvl 6 and in 4th ed making characters is so boring you can't make them your own because the book gives you basically a character sheet filled out and if you don't do that and try your own thing you are screwed. pathfinder is a much better game.
I've been there myself, besides we probably won't go all the way to level 6, but once the new players have been "educated" we will go to pathfinder. I personally got thrown into 3.5 the day I began playing D&D, and for me it wasn't a nice experience since I didn't understand what was going on. This is (again) why we do it with 4th edition.
yeah i'm DMing a game of pathfinder right now, 3 total newb's to the D20 system and 1 vet. it worked out well didn't take long to have it rolling along pretty well.
It is still really simplistic and I recomend anyone who wants to join to join. And depending on a certain Stokes mood he might even record it for the channel. I am going to ask the ones I have now whether or not they wanna try 3.5 (or pathfinder)
Dont be an asshole, atleast have the decency to look up things before you post on the fucking thread, Dungeons and dragons I would like to join you guys but no computer atm maybe another time.
Considering the amount of fun we had with previous things like this on Skype, I'm in. I'm not installing a mic though, so deal with it.
Just curious.... how do you wanna roleplay without talking? oO If you wanna roleplay. i've seen D&D groups just moving along, killing shit for fun.
Not the first time I have done this kind of thing with them. Skype has a chat function and I will be using that like last time.
Yep, not yours. They're my friends and they'll have to put up with it whether it's inefficient or not, because I honestly don't give a fuck.
