Great essay, although Lenin never advocated permanent revolution, instead he was for socialism in one country. Unless Lenin was a secret trot and I never knew about it.

Didn't Lenin say that the government in power in Russia was the closest to true communism the world has ever come?

    Its a Warhammer 40K joke.
'40K' literally means the '41st millenium'.
By our standards (since Warhammer 40K is set with the same calander as today), he is approximately 38,000 years in the future.

At least they don't have the same predictable plot like 40k. Seriously, every game those guys make, they just swap some paint schemes around for the armies involved and consider it a finished product.

That isn't really a fair comparison since there are so few Warhammer 40K games.

The point is that the Imperium isn't always benevolent and doesn't always win and that is refreshing from most fiction series.

The only reason it doesn't always win is because it's based on a tabletop game, dude.

Except that the canon is certainly enough to make up for that.

I like 40k. Actually, I like all three GW ranges. I do have some unpainted LotR stuff lying around I should really get to at some point.
