Its called rehabilitation, having friends is important for your mental health.

While I generally support rehabilitation, it's just hopeless in this case.

From what I understand this is a way to stop Breivik from having normal contact with others and still keep to the law that no prisoner can be kept in total isolation for a long time.

According to moslow's pyramid humans do need social contact or interaction but he could have freinds in prison.

It'll be interesting to see how this turns out for Norway.

I agree with this. If the "friend" gives his/her consent, its pretty much just following the law, if by rather strange WTF worthy means.

This man probably ruined a lot of friendships.

I don't understand how this man could make friends at that point.

Come now, there's no need to be cruel. I mean being unloved will drive him insane and that doesn't accomplish anything. If people want to hang out with him under restricted and supervised circumstances, sure. You never know, maybe he'll have a Road to Damascus experience and turn his life around.

I guess being a mass murderer tends to d othat.

Idk, I'd give him a shot. You never know man, maybe he's actually a really swell guy when you get to know him. I hear Hitler was actually pretty cool if you weren't Jewish.

That's a stretch to consider this guy could ever turn his life around. I believe in rehabilitation, but come on, he's a mass murderer, which makes him pretty much unrehabilitatable, especially since he premeditated it, and he's a sick fuck who doesn't show an iota of remorse.
