@UtterlyImpeccable I just noticed your sig has a quote from Jeremy Clarkson. Just when I thought my opinion of you couldn't drop any lower.
I'm pretty sure Victoria was the last one to have a Golden Jubilee as well. To be honest, Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee was fairly big. In Canada.
I never said there are no problems with the world. In fact I specifically said there are things I would like to change. However, real change can only happen gradually, and if enoguh people believe in an idea, then eventually it will come to frutition. In the mean time, we might as well enjoy our lives. Things have improved for people over time, and I am of the belief that lives will only continue to improve, unless something terrible happens, but you cannot force change. That is where all the revolutions ever went wrong. @C_G Wait, I've got more. I actually quite like David Cameron. Do you hate me even more now?
Well we all know their are problems like that, but still their has been worse. The diamond jubilee reunites people of Britain and it's former colonies to one cause for a few days. It stops people from arguing on each government party and united them to one thing that we all recognise, the Queen. It gives people a break from normal life, and gives people a reason to relax and spend time with family and friends. The diamond jubilee is more important then the golden because it's a rarer occurrence. So why argue about poltics and economy when you can relax!
But change will not happen when no one in developed countries ackknowledges there is a problem, which is the problem now. Essentially, that and he is generally a twat. And he writes for The Sun.
Hooray! Lets all be happy for once. Well, all of us apart from C_G, who will insist on telling us how the world is such a terrible place. @C_G Again, I said I know there are problems. But there are times for thinking about what problems there are, and times for celebrating what you have.
That, and also the fact that many people don't know or understand the worlds problems. Or if they do, they don't know how to deal with them. I would put myself in the latter catagory.
Well, yes after the jubilee politicians will go back to arguing and the news will flash with syria and such. But tbh nothing can be done about these problems. Tbh if you hate the queen, you should hate David Cameron more, what has he done to Britain other then making lives harder, and destroying future plans. The queen only brings happy events with her, and you tax goes to David Cameron and all the corrupt mp's as well as the queen.
What about her funeral? That won't be publicly presented as a joyous celebration, though I have a feeling C_G would treat it as one.
I'm sure there'll be lots of costs to complain about. It will be a big event though, seeing as she's ruled for so long compared with the monarchs from the first half of the last century. There's also Thatcher's state funeral. I imagine quite a lot of people will be celebrating that day.
True, but prince Charles or prince Williams ceremony to become king will be happy. I don't know what C_G wants in life, but I say this, if I gave him power he would be no better then any of the others. I'm sorry but that's my opinion
He'd do a lot worse. He would want to change things in the world, which many people would disagree with, so I doubt he would last long. Although I also doubt he would want that much power. At least, I hope not.
