The mongols murdered large portions of the populations they conquered. That's how they kept control of the regions.

I didn't know about the Iranian incident, was it isolated or did it happen else where?

Almost everywhere was the same. The mongols you're talking about are the post-conquering Ilkhanate who became very tolerate of the local populations customs and were quite fair rulers after the initial conquerers passed on the reigns.

I thought all mongols were the same, I was wrong, I personally hate the Yuans, they were the worst.

The initial Mongol conquests were violent murderfests, which killed tens of millions. The mongol kingdoms that came out of them were for the most part tolerant and good to their subjects.
When I read this, all I can think of is "They came, they saw, they conquered"

It's still playable. I just don't play it very often cuz I prefer to play it with Stainless Steel which is a bitch to install.

I have no faith in user made content. 99% of the time it only serves to break immersion due to crap production value and incomplete animations. Rarely to never have I seen a good one.

That's the way I see it. Plus, some of them are really difficult to install.
