Because he looked like a old fool compared to Obama, I just explained this. McCain was such an unattractive candidate compared to Obama that nothing was going to save his campaign. He rose in the polls because of Palin. In the Vice Presidential Debate Palin polled way higher than Biden. The only time Palin did any damage to the campaign was in the interview with Katie. She was a minimal flaw in the campaign & the closest McCain got to victory.

Not exactly. She still holds a huge amount of power in both parties & if she ran this year she would have easily chenched the nomination & have a good chance at beating Obama.

Of course, no sane independent would ever flock to her. She doesn't have a good chance at beating Obama. Ever. Independents and democrats would flock to Obama, thus he would have the majority. Unless Kaiserreich happened and 99% of Americans became Tea Partyers. I don't even think moderate-Republicans would support her.

No no no you are a little off. Remember her running mate was a moderate. Everyone got to know her with him so she naturally got a standing with them. Over the years that has laid the foundation for her to get a big pull among Moderates. Once they talked to her she used retail politics, something she is very skilled in.

As for Independents she has a good standing with them too. Contrary to how they act & are portrayed on the internet, independents arn't necessarily the "enlightened voters".

Poll numbers just don't simply go down after going up. There has to be reason why the polls went down. Why couldn't Sarah's momentum play all the way to the election? I can't be because McCain was unattractive, he looked no different to me from when he put Sarah Palin on the ticket. The voters seemed more interested in her than him. So it had to be something that she did that started causing a lack of interest in McCain/Palin.

Its momentum. It simply ran out. It doesn't mean Sarah became boring. She constantly entertained. There were however two big things that caused the momentum to run out. The first thing was Sarah Palin wasn't running to run for President, she was the Vice President. She already was coming into this as the number two. The spotlight wasn't mean't for her, but she stole it anyway.

Second, McCain kept talking. People would look at Sarah & say "oh a person who looks like they could jog a mile with out killing over" & then McCain took the stage &... "Ooo, that poor old man, what is he going to do". McCain's age was an issue throughout the campaign. When voters compared him to Barrack they favored the person who looked like they had the energy to be POTUS. Sarah had that energy, but like I said, she wasn't running for president.

I don't see that as bad. If McCain died Palin would be president. Even if he lived some 8 years it is typical for the vice president to be the next in line for president. They could have supported McCain knowing that if anything happened to him Sarah Palin would be in charge. I don't see McCain's age as a problem if he picked an effective running mate (which he did) to assume the presidency if anything happened.

The Vice President rarely wins the presidency first off. Second voters tend to stay away from a candidate who might kill over even if he has a good VP.

Oh he is going to slaughter Barrett. Also, when did Spiro Agnew run for president? I thought he was Nixon's after the tax evasion scandal he went down in flames.

Eh, that might have been a typo on the website, but I am pretty sure the others hold up. I checked a few.
