The worst kind of rain is the one that comes heavily for about three minutes, then leaves. It makes pulling a coat or umbrella out of your bag entirely redundant and makes you wet.

It's also what we've been having for the last three days, at least here in Birmingham. And it was so sunny last week!
Wait a second, we've turned a thread about the jubilee into one about the weather. I guess I am really British after all.

If you do, avoid Liverpool. Or Leeds.

Visit York. Great place. Plus they have a museum dedicated entirely to Vikings.

York sounds nice, Britannia is a small place I could visit all the historical places in a month.

Check out this place called Grimsby, I heard it has some fantastic scenery. Middlesborough is pretty swell aswell!

Swansea is well known for the friendliest football fans in the premier league, also.

Bristol and the south west are great too. HMS Great Britain is in Bristol, and loads of other stuff, and Stonehenge etc is down in Somerset/Devon. Would not recommend Cornwall, too isolated, so is Exmoor.

Here's an idea: Why don't you try and visit every county that ends with 'shire'? Yorkshire, Lancashire, Worcestershire, Shropshire, etc. That might make for an interesting trip some time in the future. Don't come in April though, that's when there's the most rain.
