You see unrestricted free speech is why the U.S. is the most racist country in the west. Let's compare it to Canada for example in the U.S. a bunch of stupid,Bigoted,Hatemongers band together and start saying very untrue and insulting things about a certain group. Nobody cares and they become some media sideshow. In Canada that same group tries to form. The news on this side of the coin is a bunch of people are being arrested for beating the shit out of those people.

Switzerland is most definitely the most racist country in the West.

I'd say having a history of citizens that have killed probably around a million people of their own race for almost the entire medieval ages have less claim to most racist western country than the one who had slaves not given rights untill. Well i have no idea what the exact date was but it was after most other western countries dropped them and stil have a reputation for being racist.

You can't preach against racism and then turn around and say that everyone in a certain group is racist.

So violence against a certain group is ok, but only as long as they believe in the same values that I believe in? Please, this is the same argument the bigots and racists you speak of use to justify their own actions. Because the other group is wrong or stupid or a lesser form of human than I. What you need to understand is that just because we tolerate these groups, and that we allow that to preacher their beliefs, does not mean that we agree or support those beliefs. In a sense, we have to deal with these issues, race, sexual identity and preference, and gender, on an individual level, while all you have to do, in the society you describe, is act like they do not exist.

I think your forgetting a few things about good ol' Europe and racism:
You know, I heard that some of the European governments in these colonies might have been slightly racist to some of the people there at one point or another.

I don't know if this is true (sarcasm), but I heard that some of the European governments killed thousands if not millions of natives durning this time.

Yes, the US is racist, but I wouldn't go near calling it the most racist country in the west. In the current state of the world, pretty much every country is more-or-less equally racist. IMO, it just seems worse, because the US is the dominate economic/military power, so extremism there is highlighted more than most other countries. Extremists are always going to be the loudest people in the room, and all.

Yes he can. There is a difference between racism and stereotyping. HOWEVER, I agree, there is a little bit of hypocrisy there.

Well, he can say whatever he wants because this is the internet and we have free speech here. The problem I have is that you're making a horrible generalization about all of the people living in The United States. Maybe what you are saying would make sense if the government had laws promoting racism. The fact is that you can't really rank nations by the amount of racism among their people because that would require that you know the true opinion of everyone of that nation's people. Which is impossible.

Of course that's possible...I mean, it'd take a while, but eventually...well, new people get born and others die, so it'll be a logistical nightmare, but it's not impossible.

I know I guy who is racist. Every day he tells me how much he hates blacks, Muslims, and gays. And everyday he tells the other people around him what a tolerant person he is. You can never really know someone's true feelings. Somebody might bubble in one answer on a survey, but in reality the other answer is more accurate.

Of course you can know someone's true feelings. In this example, you, for instance, know that guy's true feelings towards anyone that isn't...well, him.

Yeah, but how do I know which is true?

Seeing as he tells everyone he's tolerant but you, I'd say he's telling you the truth. Of course, we have plenty of reliable ways of telling whether or not people are telling the truth. Again, it's theoretically not impossible. Of course, practically it's going to take ages.

Yea, just read it.. Haven't visited the forums in a while, so when I saw a 13 page thread that looked like it had a debate going on, I had to check it out.
