Not really. Government gave money to businesses as part of the New Deal. Over time, the economy became better. You know why? Because thr economy wasn't doing as terrible under Roosevelt than Hoover.

Over time, the economy became better.....when war broke out.

Also, found out why the economy started recovering after 1938. The Republicans regained a massive amount of seats in the house, and while it did not get a majority, the seats enough made it harder for the Democrats to pass their socialist agenda.

In Canada when the Progressive Conservatives passed the New Deal they were voted out of office the next election because voters thought it was a political ploy by them late in term to gain votes which in that case completely backfired.

It annoys me that conservatives shout out 'SOCIALIST' if you mention anything slightly left of their very specific, authoritarian-right beliefs. And then they get pissed off at people when we don't bother to maintain an intellectual conversation with them, or call them crazy. If they don't want to be called ignorant or crazy, they should spend 5 minutes looking up at least the basic definitions of the ideologies they claim to hate.

I don't think Obama is trying to get the government to control all production, land, property, or trying to get the community to control that either. Think again. Like others have said, compared to the rest of the world's standards, Obama is a conservative.

I also want to point out that Democrats and Republicans may have different ideologies, but they are small compared to your average fascist and communist.
