My thoughts are, since Brazil is already a big regional power, my best bet is for it to become a major economic power. The population and brazilian government don't approve of war, we're a pacifist country. Also we've already passed France in economic ranking, now behind England. Its simple, we're either becoming an influential major economic power, not anything else since we are dependent on almost everything else to the USA.

Damn inferior southern hispano descendents, you depend so much of us, even of our military. =P

I'm pretty sure we would have a more decent army if it wasn't because along history they always kicked the crap of the ruling government. And I know you also had a coup, but if I recall, they didn't shatter the country to pieces.

In no way shape or form is Brazil a superpower, its not even close to the level required to be a superpower.

They left us with an unimaginable amount of inflation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economic_history_of_Brazil
If you care, read during the military dictatorship perior from 1964-1989. More than thousands of per cent of inflation.

Ok, I think we're all forgetting something here. Many of Brazil's 200 million people live in deplorable slums where there is a lot of gang violence and corruption. While Brazil has the potential to be a major economic power, as Yuri suggested, it first needs to clean up those slums. May I remind you all that the UN environmental thingy was held in Rio this year, simply because of its horrible environmental conditions and slums.

This, even though we're one of the richest countries in the world, its because the elite of Brazil is pretty rich, but the poor population needs government subsidies to even survive, there's people that live an entire month with like, 25 dollars.
