Well bring it republicans although I would be slightly afraid thta all the republicans would launch all the nukes in America at San Fransico(because we all know republicans dont have souls)

and being religious doesnt by definition make you a douche just don't bring it up when you talk about abortion, gay marriage, and everything else basically...

but anyways who wants to hear a joke? Ok so a buddhist walks up to a hotdog vendor and asks for a dog with everything on it. The vendor makes the dog and the buddhist gives him a 20 dollar bill, then the buddhist asks the vendor where is my change??? to which the vendor replys change comes only from within.

Because you think all women came from a mans rib. You do not believe in evolution, you believe humanity started out with two people whos offspring had incest interbreeding. You believe that if a person does not believe in god or commit murder that they burn forever in a burning pit. You believe in noahs ark. (that needs no explaining) You believe in a religon that has caused the death and suffring of untold millions. But this is only true about you if are Christian.

Why do you think red is their main color?

Last time I checked, black people are actually brown. But we don't care do we? :p
I'm not part of any organized religion. For now I believe in a deity (don't know which one) without worshiping said deity. Although one of the members on this forum introduced me to Muslim literature, and I am very closely studying Islam right now. I wrote Christianity and Catholicism off a long time ago. If I write Islam off, then I'll begin studying Judaism.

I can understand the need to believe in something greater than yourself, but I have always felt religion conflicts too much with scientific knowledge for my comfort.

Why's that? Last time I checked looking at religions doesn't make you pretentious, but I'll gladly defer to your obvious expertise.
Sometimes it can. But I believe any holy book is open to interpretation. However, it gets a bit hard to believe when said book is describing the beginning of the world as if it was created by something. Honestly I don't think I'll find anything in Islam or Judaism, and if that is so I'll continue believing the deity is simply a mysterious being of energy, whose motives cannot be guessed and whom resides at the center of the universe. Yes, its a bit out there and unconventional, but it truly is something I believe.

Well I guess it must be comforting to believe in an afterlife or something.
I'm not currently religious, but I can see it as something I might be drawn to near the end of my life. I also cannot comprehend the end of my own existence, so I refuse to believe that will ever occur.

I actually don't believe in an afterlife, unless of course you simply turn into pure energy. I guess my "religion" (so called) revolves around energy.
