My opinon is obviouslly there would be oppurtunism shown by these terrorist groups but I dont think that they would make any substantial headway, and when i say headway I mean al qaeda state they will obviouslly get new recruits but I think Britain is handeling this situation well instead of saying "TERRORISM WHERE???? BOMB IT!" there saying lets focus about the upcoming olympics take it one step at a time. The real bombshell to me was hearing that either Russia or China stole 800 million pounds from british banks.
I don't understand why these guys seem so busy working up against America and Britain and shit, but I never hear about Israel. I mean it's right there in the Middle East. Much more convenient, I say.
The amount of security in place for the Olympics is astounding. There are squadrons of Eurofighter Typhoons ready to be scrambled. Military boats on the Thames. Anti-helicopter Starstreak missiles. Anti-aircraft Rapier missiles. 17,000 police, 16,000 security guards, 8,000 military personel and 1,000 FBI agents. Obviously you must never underestimate the threat, but this seems more suited to fighting off a full-blown invasion than one or two Muslim extremists with a bomb.
It only makes the problem worse, as the United States has found out several times now Anyways, if that much security means that a few religious extremists from any numbers of groups won't kill thousands of people, i'm okay with it.
Human lives? Noo.. I was thinking more about the affect terrorism would have on the tourist industry ;D
