    The supermarkets do have some special beers, but mostly from Dutch and the larger Belgian brands.

    Grolsch is indeed Dutch, like Hertog Jan. Both are excellent beers, just like their special ones. Still, if you're used to Belgian beer, it's not that impressive.

    There are some very good beers in S-Netherlands, Northern tip of France and the area of germany right next to Belgium... The area isn't restricted to Belgium. Belgium is only fully covered by this area and right in the center of it :p

    True, true, the Benelux and area around it seems to be a very good place to get beer. Apparently, the Czech Republic has some very fine beer as well.
