Tyre will pledge twenty warships to Sparta's cause, provided we gain the Athenian territory on the tip of Anatolia as a trading post.
Tyre's twenty galleys have been ordered to join the Carthaginian navy, to act alongside them in this war.
In preparation for the trade with Scythia, the Frisians have begun on a brand new batch of longboats to ship off when necessary. The boats are long, slim and very fast. While they're not as strong or large as Mediterranean vessels, they're highly manoeuvrable and have plenty of space to hold high quality Tintener archers. Wider, bulkier and slower versions are used for trading and transporting purposes. Tintener and Frisian engineers have started working on plans on mounting heavier weapons and light siege equipment on the sides, but so far, results have come up inconclusive.
The city state of Aarhus would like these pink province. We will also begin to build 4 smaller vessels to our navy, and begin the training of 800 men.
I am colonizing three provinces to my east. All the way to the coast. East of my northeastern province.
Wait, we can colonize three provinces? He actually never did plan to conquer you. It was a possible friendship with Sparta in order to curb your influence in the region. Really you should be more worried about how Sparta took about 5 days to plan a conquest and the fact that after he invades Athens you'll be his new neighbor. You basically sent your entire navy to go help someone who has been pushing you out of the Aegean. Actually without Athens a combined Spartan/Carthaginian navy could have the Aegean on lock down with a snap of their fingers. Oh sorry I forgot, after they took every island near you they gave you a minor naval base that you wont use. Ya, you sure got the sweet end on that deal.
@Surfusa We open up negotiations with you, as you now have an understanding of our language. Under the escort of 300 armed men, we will travel to your capital and discuss te future of London and Swansea. London's fleet has now reached a new height of 50 triremes, with 10,000 sailors in the navy, and 6,000 swordsman, 3,000 spearman, and 1000 cavalry.
No more population. EDIT: @Karakoran Why is it you oppose everything we say and do. Do you find me a future threat?
@Thefatkid The Dalmatian army would be willing to temporarily patrol the land trade routes, freeing up Spartan troops for the war. In return, we would ask that in the future, the Spartans look after all Dalmatian trade routes in south-eastern Europe.
Perhaps you shouldn't take them so much as sarky comments as much as advice. You have nothing to gain by helping Sparta and Carthage. Their navies could overwhelm you by sea and their armies combined are certainly more than enough to best you mano-a-mano. The Eastern Mediterranean would be their oyster, rather than yours. Yet, if you sided with Athens your navies could easily defeat the Carthaginian and Spartan navies by sea and then you could reinforce the Athenians by land. You'd win because of the defensive advantage, maybe even be able to do a counter-attack on Sparta when they've bled themselves dry on your walls. And even if that never came, you'd still get all those islands that Sparta took from you like Crete, Cyprus, Rhodes, etc. Combined you and Athens would dominate the Eastern Mediterranean. And think of it this way, the most Athens has ever done aggressively was propose a friendship with Sparta to curb Macedonia's influence politically. Sparta has started a bloody war after completely denying the numerous calls for peace. Who do you think would be a more stable ally?
