I doubt I can defeat one-hundred and fifty ships. Anyway, Sparta won't gain any hegemony with the existence of the Phoenician alliance. Our combined navy's completely outnumber Sparta's, and Sparta couldn't touch us without a navy. If Sparta takes any action against any of us then we could easily put them down and claim the eastern Mediterranean. Sparta is no threat to me.
I suppose you could say that. But I wouldn't flatter yourself. More I'd rather see Athens be the dominate Greek power than Sparta given how Athens is far more peaceful.
A group of Dalmatian ships, four trading vessels and three warships, by virtue of their new maps, has reached the waters of the English Channel for the first time. Upon seeing a rather hairy-looking group of men on the northern shoreline, the Dalmatian vessels drop anchor in the nearest cove and begin exploring this new land. They soon find a guide who, while not speaking a common language, leads them to the capital of this new land, the great city of London. One of the Dalmatian traders has a very quick mind and has already picked up a few words of this strange tongue from the guide. OOC: Sparta at this time had a navy. If you remember the Peloponnese Wars they actually had so strong a navy that they defeated the Athenian one. Granted this is earlier on so their navy is not as strong, but it's still notable. Not to mention if you remember you've constructed several ships and given most all your soldiers naval training. Also, if you include the Carthaginian navy to yours (which for all intensive purposes we should), your navy is quite a mighty force. They don't have that many ships, that would be Godmoding. They have at max 25. Max. These things are fucking expensive. They're bloody warships. You don't just shit them out. And you can't build the largest fleet in the world and a fuckton of war elephants. And if there really are 150 ships in the Carthaginian navy then you should be pissing yourself because Sparta can relatively control the Carthaginian navy and thus theoretically use it against you. Sparta and Carthage are buttbuddies so strong that Carthage is willing to give Sparta direct control of his nation. He'd 100% definitely use the Carthaginian navies against you as well. While there is a chance you can hold the line at present, a Spartan nation bolstered with the new Athenian lands can pump out ships faster than you. Sparta would certainly like you believe that, then he wont have to worry about the sea for a long while. But in actuality it is much safer for you if Athens sides with you. To really sum my advice up to you, yes, Sparta currently does not a pose a direct threat to Tyre. It is the future, though, that we must consider. With Athens subjugated Sparta can pump out ships faster, sad to say, and with Carthage's navy combined to his there is a chance that in the future he could defeat you. Perhaps you could say that this is smaller a chance than I claim and thus you have nothing to worry about, but why take the risk? You can side with Athens and not risk anything AND gain a ton of territory to boot AND a new, powerful ally who will forever be in your debt for saving them. I strongly urge you to consider that possibility.

Why do you care Kara? I thought your interests would be more based upon the future stability of the Scythian Empire. Either way, it seems like a good idea. Tyre's twenty galleys are sailing to Athens. Should any other ships try to stop us leaving, we will use Greek fire against you. We will also begin arming Athens. Tyre itself will be placed on full alert, along with all of our other towns. We advise the Levantine Kingdom ( @Skyicewolf ) to do the same. We do not want a singularly Spartan-dominated Mediterranean. Such a lack of versatility is bad for business. Tyre would also like to extend the offer of a mutual alliance to Dalmatia, to protect both of our trade interests in the coming war. The caravan sent to Danzig will be diverted to Scythia after it's trading there, to give gifts of appreciation for it's military advice, before returning to Tyre.
Dalmatia accepts the alliance, but does not wish to side with either side in this conflict. This is in the interests of trade, so I'm sure Tyre will understand.
We offer a deal with Tyre. When the war is over we give you Cyprus. Sparta loses its ports however Carthage Keeps it. All captured ships go to Tyre. Sparta signs a deal allowing it to have no navy excluding trade and escort ships. The current deal is negotiable.
We would also like to remind Tyre that breaking the Phoenician alliance will end your credibility as a nation.
Tyre finds this choice to be reasonable. Tyre will accept, provided we also gain complete control of eastern Crete, without any other states holding power there. Tyre would also like full control of Cyprus, without a Carthaginian port. We would still like the eastern point of Anatolia, though as a province jointly controlled by both Tyre and the Levantine Kingdom. We would also like the group of isles east of Athens.
Tyre was supporting Sparta, then switched to Athens on the advice of Kara. And now they have switched back to Sparta, I think. It's all in the interest of trade, I'm sure, so Dalmatia understands.
I mean like as a whole. What is the whole state of relations between Carthage, Athens, Sparta, Macedon, Levantine Kingdom and Tyre?
