If he wants to to discredit his argument by appearing unprofessional that's his problem.
    So edgy.

I say we change the subject. For some reason WWI angers both me and D3adtrap.

Well, to put this thread back on topic.

The stereotype that so called 'barbarians' the Romans fought were uncivilised and backwards.
I don't have space to detail everything here, but it's all in a book I read, by Terry Jones. Basically, it describes how the Celts, Dacians etc. were far more advanced than we give them credit for.

Tannenburg is a valid point, though much smaller in size. Hundred day offensive, no.

While not so mature of me, I believe it was appropriate response to your nonsense.

You might know something about margin of error, do you? Here it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_I_casualties May I say that we have no reason to expect your source being any more reliable.

Your refusal to accept the facts does not obligate me to change my source. Thank you, but no thank you.

Wait a minute. Did they not fight the Germans, Austrians & Ottomans all at the same time and still came ahead in statistics? Wouldn't it make them much more superior, than then? I firmly believe so.

    __________________________________________________________

Opinion noted, but it is my right to aggressively go after others arguments given my Stalin himself and I intend to apply it when need be.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With some reading you might have had uncovered a little secret, where I said that I WAS NOT ARGUING WITH YOU. All those 5 points I made was not because I disagreed with you, they were made in vain attempt to explain to you why it did not like the way you present your argument, not argument it self. And I even specified it at the very end. How could you miss that!?!??!?!??

WW1 does not anger me, people who cannot even read do anger me.

I don't find that surprising. Barbarians only mean foreigners. We have twisted and turned that word into meaning simple minded brutes. Also there were many Germanic tribes that traded with and were friendly with the Romans.

@UtterlyImpeccable celts etc weren't as barbaric as people like to think, but germans as sure as hell were barbarians.

Yes, but they still don't get enough credit.

For example, the Celtic calender was more accurate than the Roman one.

I'm sure this would have gone so much better over Skype, there I could have had explained where you misunderstood me, which all this nonsense drama is really about.

I doubt you mean it, but regardless I'm pleased that we finally reached an understanding and I stopped being an asshole.

EDIT: Opinions do not matter, facts do, don't they ;)

Stereotype: the USSR was habitable for humanity at any point in its history.

Truth: only communists were allowed to live there.

Stereotype: country 'X' was the real victor in war 'Y'.

Truth: no they weren't. They lost.

-Nero fiddled while Rome burned. There are actual accounts of Nero opening his private property to refugee citizens during the Great Fire of Rome. It was most likley used by politcal opponents to paint Nero as a terrible emperor, more than he already was.
-The signimg of the Declaration of Indepedence was on July 4th, acutally it was month later on August 2nd. The Declaration was approved on July 4th
-The Emancipation Proclomation didn't free any slaves. In North and South Carolina alone, over 30,00 slaves who had been taken by the army as "property" were given their freedom upon the Proclomation.
-Hitler was a vegetarian. Of the various medical problems with Hitler, one was stomach pain that he refused treatment to and tried to cure by eating primarily vegetables and fruit. However he was seen on several occasions eating meat.
