I've set up an IRC Channel for the community to use.

A lot of us communicate through Skype, but this would be a good way of just communicating live in a public group without having to deal with gathering people on Skype.

    Here's the channel: irc://freenode/NKVDChat
The password is, as usual: mattsmom

    Recommended you use ChatZilla.

Here's a link to the extension for Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/chatzilla/

Just search for 'ChatZilla' if you don't use Firefox.

Even though no one seems interested in this particular idea, could a mod sticky this anyway?
    It might catch on eventually...

The problem is that the chats/IRC always seem to decline after a time. There's still a chat button at the top of this page.

    Click it.

And it may decline over time, but IRC has always been, and always will be a useful tool for groups to efficiently communicate with one another about whatever.

Yup, I've spent enough time on IRCs in my lifetime to know how great they can be. Problem is that they are only even fun when a decent enough amount of people use them.

Think of it as an investment.

The more the community has to offer, the more it grows.
The more it grows, the more would use the IRC Channel.

That's pretty much my entire mindset when I make these strings of idea threads, just trying to improve and expand the community to help promote growth.
