@General Mosh , this time I will colonise eastwards, instead of south along the coast. @russianguy8745 , we urge you to join with Athens and ignore Sparta. Nothing they can offer compares with the power, wealth and prestige you can gain with Athens and it's allies. Join with Athens, play your cards right, and you could have control over the entire west Mediterranean. Side with Sparta, and your power will be curbed by Carthage.
Rome already has walls, has no need for Athenian tech, has no need for Spartans, has no need for a naval base in the Eastern Med. especially not many of them, and you weren't going to colonize in Italy anyway unless you were really fucking stupid. It does have a need for the removal of Carthage's navy, which he can only get with the Athenian victory.
Okay now Rome has gained Independence from the Etruscan kings, beginning the era of Rome Republic. They send scout ships all over the Mediterranean sea looking for new people for trade.
I have to use paintbrush, fill got steadily worse and worse. I'm experimenting with it too make it look better though.
Yes i was going to colonies until Rome become player controlled We give them the design of our walls as a sign of trust, they know how to destroy it. Athens is one of the most advanced nation on earth.
Sparta has nothing of value to offer Rome. Rome could have the entire western Mediterranean in it's hands by siding with Athens.
Rome Borders: 30,000 legions in North and East Rome and 20,000 legions in southern Rome (Rome= all the territory i have)
@General Mosh is Macedon on my side? Rome what do you want for a military alliance? Name it we will get it.
Rome, do not accept Sparta's offer. They have nothing they can offer you that Athens's alliance doesn't already have in abundance. Joining Athens will give you complete power in the west Mediterranean. Also, @Imperial1917 , has Macedon considered our offer?
You just placed all your armies everywhere except the West coast. You know, the only place an invading army could catch you by surprise from.
OOC: Macedon won't be doing anything until I figure out where I stand in military strength, technology, etc. Again, does anybody know whether I reset or I have units deployed? If so, how many and where?
Rome we offer you naval bases in Sardinia, Corsica, Crete, Eastern Greece to establish Adriatic influence, and Carthage. If we win this conflict we can offer more.
Sparta announces that it now considers the Romans equal to Greek. We do this in note of similar religion and myths.
Athens would like you to note that Athens is under siege, and note the atrocities committed by the Spartans. They are massacring innocents!
Don't listen to Sparta, Rome, they're only spouting this empty conjecture in desperation. If you join Athens, it will seal the doom of Sparta and Carthage. With Carthage out of the way, you will be a dominant power and will not have to share your power with either of those states. Also, without Athens and it's allies, trade would die, and the gates to the east would be closed. Siding with Athens provides power, prosperity and more besides.
