The Battle of Athens is pretty much these three major engagements. Attacking the Spartan homeland is a different tale.
Hungary pledges 16'000 of it's currently serving 29'000 troops to help it's allies in Athenia. The composition of the army consists of - 5000 spear men 6000 archers 5000 lightly armored peasant infantry 2000 light-horse archers
Um... dude. All the Spartan groups were destroyed to the last man. Did you not read the battle results at the bottom of each post?
Hold the ceremonies. Due to the garbled nature of the Sparta's communication, I have seperate stories of what was going on at Athens and south of Athens. On Sparta's side, they contend that there were 21,000 Romans at Athens with the 17,000 Spartans and 9,000 Carthaginians. I can confirm the Carths, but I need to establish if all the Romans were there. At this point, I am just going to assume that the Romans were SOMEWHERE. I was given comfirmation that the force was raised and deployed to Athens. The AA say that 10,000 of the Romans were fighting the Scythians. @russianguy8745 Please tell me where in the world your troops were. The fate of 2 battles depends on it.
I don't know if I really like this battle system. All my forces just charged willy nilly and did nothing except for that. Next time, could i please have a actual effect on my forces so they don't do battle like a toddler?
I find it makes battles unpredictable, just as they are in real life. You would have little control over an actual battle. So I say, long live the new battle system!
I have 0 problem with that. In fact, that is what I was looking for to begin with. I said 'battle plan', but that became 'force composition/strength/location/etc.' because nobody was giving me anything. I WANTED full plans and contingency strategies, but I got caught up in just determining WHAT PEOPLE HAD AND WHERE. Just include it in the next battle. Better yet, since I am still doing Athens, draw up plans and send them to me. Oh, and I found these posts from Rome: P111 P112 I take from these that Rome moved 10,000 from Athens and sent them en route somewhere else.
Imperial, I tried to make battle plans, but I had NO IDEA what Spartan Alliance forces was. The battle plan for the Athenians would've been different if he didn't have 20,000 extra troops I didn't know about >.>
I say that before a battle, EVERYONE INVOLVED has to give their forces, positions, and plans before anything happens, either by posting or PMing.
At least tell the person how many people are where. I had no idea where Spartan troops were. I know that the entire Spartan army was down to 35,000 men, but that's it.
Neither did I until the battle was over. But I have seen the posts where they did say they moved those forces to Athens. Then again, Rome did say that it withdrew its forces after the battle. I did tell them that.
Imperial, them giving posts vaguely saying where there troops are going, over the course of 30 pages, doesn't really tell me much. And if you didn't know till the battle was over, shouldn't we be redoing this battle? And what happened to the battle with the Scythians? Who fought them?
Again, the Athenians never would've sallied forth if there were actually like 50k Spartan troops. That would've been suicidal. In fact when the order was given it was because we were told, I believe by Imperial, that there were only 17k Spartans. And if the Athenians had never sallied forth, my remanding 13k Scythians would not have gone south into Sparta, but north into Athens to attack the Spartans there.
