I though it was a little quiet here, so I decided to create this thread.

Which is more productive and beneficial for a government and the people of the government? Is it a smarter choice to lower taxes for the people or to increase governing spending to give more money to the people?

as long as you don't overspend, both is the way to go. In an ideal world taxes would be as low as possible and the state would spend as much as he can afford to.

That statement is absurdly unhelpful. If the state raises taxes, it can afford to spend more.

Anyway, state should spend a lot more money on public works and interests like infrastructure, education, health, science and especially Space Programs.

I think we can sorta afford to not fund space programs for now. Education > Space

Little to no taxes, little to no spending.

I just want to remind everyone, it doesn't matter how much you fund it, it's what you get out of it.

Arizona is 48th I believe in funding but is middle in the road on actual test scores.

True, I personally would go for a system whereby everyone can live quite comfortably and choose to do whatever they want. Mastery is a very strong motivational concept and when it comes to cognitive tasks it works better than financial rewards, which break down almost totally at more intellectually stimulating tasks.

Globally the amount of money spent of Space is horrifically low, I think the US spends less than a hundredth of a dollar or some stupidly low percentage of tax on it. Space Exploration gave people something that is sadly missing now: hope for the future. When we abandoned Space we sacrificed a great motivator, science was universally respected as the great enabler and people wanted to do well in school to become the builders of tomorrow: great scientists, engineers, thinkers etcetera.

We get a lot more than just space exploration out of funding a space program. They usually put a lot of their budget into R&D and scholarships.

If you enter a recession/depression, you don't have a taxing problem you have a spending problem. Spending money IS the way to go. If you got the money & you are not a trillion+ dollars in debt by all means spend, spend away. However don't be frivolous, spend it wisely. If you enter a recession/depression it is clear what the root of the problem is. You are spending too much.

Because I hold this belief I think taxes should be kept low. Now unlike some bat shit insane Republicans(RON PAUL, Bachmann, etc) I believe some form of taxation is necessary. I could get all sappy about "giving back to your country" but in short you can just drop getting all that money. It ain't gonna end well.

To sum it up increase government spending if possible & in most cases it will benefit the people in some for or fashion. Keep taxes as low as possible with out royally fucking up the economy.

The dichotomy between taxing and spending is senseless without first understanding who is in control of the monetary supply, and how the monetary system works as a function of debt.
