I have nothing to discuss. Carthage fought in a war against the Empire, and you are still considered our enemies. If anyone went to war with you, guaranteed we'd side with them. That about setttles it.
What if Carthage was attacked let say by a random nation that is not in your alliance. Would you stay neutral. Our forceses hardly clashed at the battle of Athens and our navy never engaged. During the Korean war China and America still ended working together after there brutal war.
Work on the Great Road is coming along nicely; the Danzig mercenaries are happily digging, since they receive copious amounts of wine for their efforts. Dalmatia recalls 300 men from the colony at Benghazi to our capital, and instead we raise 1000 local people from nearby villages. They are currently untrained, but the Spartan force in Benghazi begins training them immediately, and the best equipment is sent from our capital for them. @Imperial1917 Dalmatia wishes trade with Dacia. We can offer everything you could desire; salt, olive oil, silks, ivory, spices and gold jewellery, which you would be hard-pressed to source from elsewhere. We also ask if you would like the Great European Road to at some point be expanded, so it reaches Dacia.
So, apparently I skipped two wars or something, but I'll continue working on the trade routes, and also continue colonising south and east. Also, new schematics for forts have been made to defend borders and trade routes involving a wooden wall built on top of "terpen", a Frisian "invention" that involves creating a hill out of natural resources to protect the structures on it from flooding. Widely used in marshy areas to house entire villages, more strengthened hills are used for fortresses and houses for garrisons. Both on top of the wet and slippery hill and below it are spiky wooden walls, making it hard to climb. The only way to the top is a staircase made into the hill, making storming it a difficult task. Engineers have realised the entire structure is very susceptible to fire, and both for that and defensive reasons, engineers have thought of ways to flood the area around the fort to stop fires and further increase the difficulty of assaulting the fort. Results have been inconclusive, and the issue is dropped, considering it would be a engineering and technological nightmare.
Trade is always a good thing - we accept. I think there are quite a few German wines, I'm far from an expert, though.
"Bier", actually. No, but seriously, there are a few good German wines, I think. Although they might be Austrian, I'm not sure. Also, could you edit in new posts, and cut down on the one-word posts that don't really mean anything? Every time I get up and watch this thread, there are 30 new pages, which I generally skip, so I hardly know what's going on.
D Dalmatia accepts, we start sending trade vessels right away, protected by warships. @russianguy8745 Yes, it's Roman wine.
Guys I can't update the maps until my afternoon, just post them now and I will get to work tonight. Thanks and have a war or something.
