a 14 year old cuban come's to florida and you just say "well that makes sense". to me what you should have said was "well that makes sense cuban's have never been good at our language before". tell me that's not what you really meant.
It's not a stereotype to say that people who didn't grow up learning English won't be as good as those who have at speaking English.
Well, it'd make a lot of sense if you didn't know my language, considering it's Dutch. And yes, I do not find it surprising that someone who's lived in a Spanish speaking country all his life and then moved to an English speaking country would struggle with the language, or at least the writing grammar. English is a bitch to learn if you're not familiar with it.
not all my life after 14 i spent the rest trying to learn this language. on top of that i have do my best going through a dozen state regulated test like the PERT and take the ASVAB because i want to join the army. I can speakand read it writing is where my problem is so my teachers told me to practice the best i can. So i go on websites like this to have fun and do what i can on the grammar department.
Exactly, you've only had 4 years practice in writing English, whereas I have had over 18 years. In time, your grammar will probably be indistinguishable from native English speakers but for now, like you said, you should practice.
Whut. Typical bloody Texan, all angry at absolutely nothing, and never understands what has been said. You're just like @Jack118
If your puny liberal mind can't handle intellectual debate of this magnitude, then I suggest you leave before you hurt yourself.
