I have 5,000 men that have trained for a year and my other 10,000 have started there training.

They only have a years training. I have guys with 5-6 years training, AND battle experience. A year of training might teach them a bit, but if you guys siege a castle, for example, all those 1 year trained guys would be massacred, most likely.
