Can you back-check the history on that one? The Wiki is a bit garbled. It says that the armor was first recorded used in the Hispania conquest by Rome, but that stretches quite a few years.

It says that it's first recorded use in combat was 218 bc, since that's when the conquest of Hispania began. This would be within the timeframe of this game, but it ALSO says that they got the technology in the 3rd century from the Celts, which is also within the timeframe of this game.
