Part of the blame for that can be blamed on the FSB.

Chechnya is a harbor for Islamist terrorist who have committed crimes like the Beslan school massacre and numerous bombings, they deserve none of my sympathy.

Here the point I agree with that statement, they really deserve none of my sympathy.

Wow, so at first I thought it was just one of those regions in some nation that wanted to break off and had no real claim at all for breaking off but it turns out they actually have a reasonable claim. They got their independence after the fall of the USSR like every other post-Soviet country, but Russia tried to assert control over them again in the First Chechnya War. The Russians killed somewhere between 50,000 and 100,000 Chechnya Civilians.

After the war the government fell apart and descended into chaos. It was comparable to what Somalia is now with warlords rising up and attempting to control regions, etc. Eventually it led to the rise of several radical Islamic groups and all that shit.

They gained de facto independence after the war but still weren't exactly independent. More, their government was a puppet for Putin. Then the Islamic International Brigade (which happened to be based in Chechnya) invaded the Russian province of Dagestan in 1999 because they're the stupidest fucks ever and lost. So Russia started the Second Chechnya War under basically the same grounds for the American Invasion of Afghanistan. Rooting out those Mooslams and their terrorism and shit. Also they used the Invasion of Dagestan as the causus belli like any sane man would.

Chechnya got its fucking ass handed to it. They were outnumbered 4 to 1 and lost three times as many soldiers. Luckily though Putin managed to take out all those dangerous hospitals and schools and rack up 25,000 Civilians kills + 5,000 Chechnyans "disappearing". There's some stupid organization called the "Committee of Soldier's Mothers" that claims that like a billion Russians died in the war, but they're probably all just on their periods or something so ignore them.

So this sparked an era of occupation and integration of Chechnya into Russia. It's kind of comparable to Iraq now I guess. It lasted like 9 years and then the Chechnyan resistance sort of gave up and went home, realizing they weren't getting anywhere.

There's probably like 4 guys held up in their mother's basement still fighting for Chechnya but it's pretty much gone by now. And no, it'll never get free again.

No I think he ment Kaisserreich would happen.

But in all seriousness the situation is hard there.
Cultrually, religiously it is different from Russia, but if the Chechen govment would be weak then checnya could be a muslim extremist hell-hole (a more muslim and more extremist one) andwithout the russian developing economy that could turn into a superpower, then the independent Chechnya the people could live in massive poverty.
