So you automaticly decide to cut down the biggest, hardest tree?

The trees were able to repopulate faster than the natives could cut them down. That's why the land wasn't all empty and was forested when Europeans got there.

The Natives did not need wood other than for basic uses. And yes, they were more in touch with the environment than the Europeans ever were.

They didn't have large scale market economies, so they would have no reason to harm their environment to gain more resources than they needed for survival.

I feel like you were trying to stereotype them the way they often were, as basically ancient hippies.

Of course they didnt need the wood cause they nmever really formed nations, there were just kind of a bunch of tribes running around the forest and plains not knowing that there was another land to the East

Just because they do not have large market economies does not mean they are uncivilized or needed to be "enlightened" by the Europeans. What kind of sick world do you live in?

We've been talking about art and Kara has been calling them uncivilized because they were technologically inferior. He's going to deny it, but he's been using that argument over and over for days.

I know but he was just using this argument to further his point and I was saying that he was wrong which he has been this whole time :D

Define the ideal "civilized" society and tell us what it's benefits are as opposed to an "uncivilized" one, as you'd call it.

Do we still live in 1880?

    Not really.

I'm ashamed no one took the opertunity to say, inb4deny.

The standards for being civilzed have risen over time. In a modern sense this would be somewhat ideal:

-A complex "system" of the arts.
    -Clothing.
-Generally nutritioned unless there's a mass famine or something.
    -A Writing System.
    -Some form of Infustructure.
-An Identity, as in, the persons recognize themselves as being of this Villiage, or this nation.
    -Currency, preferably.

Obviously it's kind of hard to do so in a Modern Sense because we're all basiclly civilzed. Except maybe some of those deep African tribes in the Congo and stuff, it's all good.

Kara you really have a messed up mind. The Europeans had the biggest disease rate in the world at the time. They almost got wiped out by the Black Plague. If they were so civilized, why did they not prevent this from happening?

Why do you consider yourself a higher being as opposed to someone without these "civilized" traits?
