    Well the database appears to be upgraded and all the posts are back so no harm done.

    Edit: No wait you only lost the wordpress database which isn't back. Fairplay the forum would have been the bigger loss.

    I've put the wordpress and forums into their own databases, CLEARLY labeled this time. So backs up of both are done separately. And maintenance can be done on either individually instead of bringing everything down.

    Well the reason I asked for them to be put in the same database was so that I could eventually link the forum and the blog easily, but to be honest I don't think there is any need.

    well if we we put them into the same database they would have to share 1gb of space, this way they both get 1gb each.
    should still be able to link them easily though, as they are on the same server. they just save their data to different folders essentially.
