Battle.net and the Paradox Forums will be the two major places to look. If you can bring a modder or two especially it would help.

Well sorry to be late but I just noticed this thread. Everyone who has applied to be a field marshal (six people) has been charged with recruiting 25 members to the branch that he wants to be the field marshal for before he can apply. You can't marshal your forces if there isn't a force to be had. This issue of low membership is going to be on the highest priorities for the field marshals for a while.

I am also personally recruiting for Shogun 2 - we've been in the fourth tier online since the game came out. =/

Does this mean beyond the absurd number of forum members who are already "in the clan" according to the orange color of their username?

also can you guys access the group lists of who's in what group? Would make it easier to try and mobilize

Although there are many orange forums members, most of them are not part of the branches that are severely lacking - like Napoleon Total War (which emperor napoleon has applied for) and Battlefield 2 (which 2 people have applied for). Not to mention Call of Duty which is nearly dead. You can never have enough soldiers.

As far as group organization goes - there is no way to tell which orange belongs to what game. It's really up to every member to just join the steam group and keep track of their friends on these forums and in their respective friend lists.

The NKVD itself is in a mess. We tried to expand into like 7 games and once and we didnt realy know what we were doing. Also Stalin never seem to have the time to organize it himself, so the structure is more like a headless chicken.

Not really. We're more appointing a few peope and right nowthey're doing a little. It's the whole starting activeness thing. Unless the NKVD makes some major changes it'll go straight back into a slum.

Kara I addressed your last post but I guessed it disappeared somehow. Probably because Raygun posted at the same time I did. Anyhow, apart from the field marshals applying now, Esac and I have been talking a bit about the best way to head the clan in the proper direction. It's all been sorted out and so long as every soldier is willing to do his or her part for the glory of the NKVD everything will be fine. If you want to help out personally you can PM me. The NKVD may be less than organized now but I assure you that the wheels are in motion for a glorious future.

Yeah, it seems like most of the posts on this site are from NKVD soldiers yet they are nowhere to be seen when the tournaments start. The whole thing is just kind of pointless if you ask me as we have just as many non NKVD soldiers playing as actual ones.

I just hope when we actually get more people, the whole thing doesn't become unmanageable. Good luck to whoever is going to run these things.

The highest priority for myself and the prospective field marshals is to bolster our ranks until we have a firm grasp in the online community. You can never have enough soldiers.

Recruitment is great and all, but what we have needs to be organized first. If we aren't doing anything with a game, either organize something for it, or drop it.

What we have is in the process of being organized, with the exception of the Call of Duty branch - it may have to slumber for a while. I have received a suggestion on how to record active memberships within the NKVD and I may implement it in the next few days as it is a work in progress. What was suggested was that I create and sticky a thread logging all the games we are involved in with a list of members for each respective game.

The Total War Branches should probably be unified as there's not exactly a large base for Napoleon Total War left. The Branch would simply die away slowly.

Call of Duty should be dropped in general unless we have something in the works.

Also, Branches should put out requests for mods. So, if anyone wants some glory they can take up the offer and mod the game.
So the Total War branch could put out a bulliton for a Reballance Mod in ETW and whoever makes it best would get glory and we'd get another mod to bolster that Branch and NKVD in general.

We have too many people that are in the clan, but do nothing. I say we kick them out, and actually promote people who need to be. We have a lot of regular players that have yet to even be officially inducted into the clan.

Perhaps it would be wise to make the NKVD soldiers a invite/application group only. It does seem silly that people who have no intention of actually playing games in the clan bear the title of a NKVD soldier.

The NKVD is an army, so organize it as such. Rank and file for each member based on activeness, contribution, and detication.
Rather than just organizing the high command, organize the whole population. Those who sit and do nothing stay the equivilant of nothing, but push those that make us mods, attend many events, and otherwise well ahead of the rest.
