We did a presidential March Madness bracket, so I decided to make one for the forum. Rules: 1. Presidents are only rated on the time during their presidency. 2. Only counts impact in the context of the United States. Here's mine, use the same format. (sorry it had to be in parts, shitty camera) FDR got my overall vote. Why Johnson beat Lincoln: While Lincoln did keep the Union together during the Civil War, he never firmly controlled the violent racism in the South. Also, the South solidly voted for the Democrats for almost a hundred years as the part of slavery.
Its kind of hard to control a country you just took over with a bullet lodged in the back of your head, but whatever. I can't do an entire list at this time, but overall the best president to me(so far) is Abraham Lincoln with perhaps Jefferson and Reagan bringing up the rear. This man came from nothing and managed to defeat the south and outlaw slavery. Now segregation was a problem, but you can't blame Lincoln for that. He was killed before he could see how things were going to turn out. The reason I don't have FDR as first is for one big thing, he expanded the power of the Federal Government. That is never the right thing to due in times of crises. Sure it worked then, but it set the stage for what is going on now. I'll probably make a full list later.
By the way, those listed are only judge on events DURING THEIR PRESIDENCY. For example, you couldn't pick Jefferson over others because he wrote the Declaration.
Nope, any and all decisions must be made within the span of their presidency. It changes things, trust me.

what the hell did kennedy ver do? he stoped the missle crisis? i could have done that crap with some easy going negotiaitons with kruschev. Besides i think the soviets and cubans worked together with oswald {but thats another story}.
Yeah, what did he ver do? Now I've always heard that he stopped it, but this new angle of him stoping it changes my view of the man completely. Missle? Not familiar with this term. Well clearly you're more educated than anyone else here in regards to stoping the missle crisis. Is this like a new element or something?
